Wow this is a crazy busy forum! I can't keep up!

The place for those OT discussions that you just HAVE to share in a doll themed forum.

Totally serious about this usually being a more sedate bunch. Usually I visit here a couple of times a day and it isn't unusual for there to only be a dozen or so posts made in between visits. So, don't worry. We have just having a buzz of activity that will drop off soon and we'll be back to our lazy river ways again!

hehe ok, sounds like I just might fit in more here than I originally thought.

Another funny thing is I tend to feel like I kill social scenes. I swear it seems like every time I walk into a room (aka forum) suddenly everything gets quiet *crickets chirping* even if I don't say anything at all. So i'm kind of glad I asked or I would have felt like I REALLY killed the posting here after that big mess lol.

OMG no - I'm shocked that there is activity on a friday to be honest - normallyl friday around here is less exciting than quiet time in a monastary ;p That troll really spiced things up hahahahaha

But going back a few posts - you'd be surprised how many "kids" out there own, not the "expensive" $500 dolls, but the UBER EXPENSIVE $1000+ dolls!!! Of course with a lot of them it seems to be an elitist status thing. "You just own a cheap Bobobie, but I own a REAL doll - a VOLKS." yea, whatever. hahahaha Most of them hang out in the bigger forums where there are more people to impress hahahahaha.

They wouldn't want to hang here were we not only allow those shoddy vinyl obitsu dolls (yes, I'm being sarcastic) but those REALLY CHEAP Barbie type things!!! OMG they aren't even fully articulated! AAHHHHHH

Ugh, now that I actually own a volks, I can trash talk their posing skills. Honestly, if I'd paid retail for my boy, I'd be really ticked. Not to say my boy isn't cute as a button, just that I've seen bricks with more posability. This is prolly gonna shock a lot of people out there. A properly restrung and sueded Bobobie poses a million times better than a Volks MSD. XD

*waits for the hordes from DoA to keel over from what she just said*

LMAO... that amuses me so much, remembering how I was asked over on DoA in a BOBOBIE threa... if my BBB Espree was a Volks. I guess your face ups have the ability to totally transform a doll's company. ^_~

Unfortunately I don't own the doll in my pic :( But it was the very first doll I ever saw that piqued my interest in very expensive dolls. There's this site:
http://www.china-cart.com/d.asp?a=Tang+ ... es&d=19125

I found it years ago when I was looking for pictures of Chinese Hanfu clothing. The Clothes there are GOOOOOOORRRRRGEOUS! But insanely expensive. Just the outfit this doll is wearing costs $295.

The really weird thing is that some of the outfits they have on there are sewn for and displayed on dolls even though they are really meant for people.

I wrote to the company, but they don't sell any of the dolls that model on their site :( They will make the clothes in doll sizes, but it still costs the same as buying the full sizes ones because of the difficulty working on a smaller scale.

Think I want to post more pics from that site later in the spam thread, because they have sooo many beautiful dolly pics. Just pisses me off so bad seeing them all, but the dolls aren't even available! ergh!

oooo yes - I have seen the doll photos on that site! Sooooooooooooo gorgeous! I dunno, I almost think that I would pay that much for a hanfu that beautiful! The head pieces and jewelry alone on some of those are exquisite! Well, I'm not 100% sure but I think the doll in your avatar is an Elfdoll Soah - Elfdolls are really beautiful!

Nah, it's just the way it is. I knew getting him that the was single-jointed and would be a poor poser. I had him shipped to me unstrung so that it would be quicker for me to work with him. ^.~

OOooOOoooooh.... they will actually sell the doll sized outfit?! I might have to take another look at them then. I have a DZ 70cm that needs an uber spiffy outfit along those lines. ^____^
