Wow this is a crazy busy forum! I can't keep up!

The place for those OT discussions that you just HAVE to share in a doll themed forum.

If I was a bit more wealthy, I'd definitely buy one of those outfits! I think most of them include all the accessories and wigs/headdresses.

And thanks about the doll ID! I think you're right. I did a quick lookup and the face looks identical to me. Would be great to have one!

It's kind of crazy, but I'm a totally obsessive person... I think I actually want to copy all the pics of the pretty dolls with their clothes and links to their pages from ChinaCart... Is that ok? Think I should post them in the spam thread? Or in their own thread? I don't know how many there are... I think 30-50.

Howdy!

What Kiki didn't tell you is that it is pretty trivial to put a resin head on an Obitsu body, so if there is a face you love, you can stick it on an Obitsu and get the face sculpt AND the poseability. Most NS resin comes pretty close to Obitsu WS.

Are most heads of the same size but different brands interchangeable? I've been wondering that a bit lately. I've seen the S-hook inside most of the larger dolls, but not quite as sure about smaller dolls, especially different kinds of 1/6th.

I mean non-bjd 1/6th are definitely different... but if all those non-S-hoook type heads are interchangeable or not.

I think they should have their own thread in the Fashionista area! If you can, though, don't link directly to ChinaCart's servers. That can sometimes cause loading trouble and such so it's better to put them somewhere else to link from. And also just mention they are from ChinaCart so folks know where to find them and to keep us from getting in trouble with ChinaCart LOL

Oh yeah, I was planning to. Didn't want to highjack their bandwidth. I've been combining and clipping pics from their website and then each pic is going to be clickable to link to ChinaCart's sale page in case anyone wants to buy the outfit. Uploading the pics to Photobucket.

I had lost the link to my avi pic doll once before and it took me 3 hours of searching ChinaCart's website to find it again lol, so cataloging it this way is something I'd like to do even if I don't actually ever get to buy one of these lovely outfits.

The answer to that is "mostly" since a couple brands are notorious for being either oversized or pinheaded. You can also get into trouble in the 27 cm size...because SOME of them are "YoSD", which are babies or toddlers, some are a kind of young child size (like Bobobie's Bei) and some are very small but adult dolls that somehow manage to be just a tad bigger than fashion dolls (Like the Soom Fairy series). So I would ask a lot of questions if you are looking in the 27 cm size.

A good number of heads are in a similar size range as long as you keep in mind what *scale* it's supposed to be. 1:3 scale heads can usually be swapped from one body to the next, except Lut's newer heads that use the 'one-touch' system (in that case get the 'adapter' and THEN the transfer can be done).

A while back I had an Elfdoll Lydia head on an obitsu body with no issues. I got rid of the head because I'm just really nit-picky about some things and it wasn't matching up with the rest of my dolls. Since 1:3 scale Elfdoll girl heads all range in a similar size bracket, there's little issue with shoving one onto a 60cm obitsu body.

Here's a shot of my old Lydia on an obitsu. Since I have a thing for boy dolls, I'd turned it into a cute boy. The way the head is attached will also work really well for a girl doll too! ^.~

I normally don't work with 1:6 dolls, so I can't really help with that. I'm sure that someone else can probably give a better answer on how to do the resin head/obitsu body for the tinies. ^____^

If in doubt about whether or not a specific combination will work or not, ask in the forum. XD

Thanks again for the info!

yeah, the 1/3rds have my primary interest... I just have those 2 1/6th dolls, but they aren't really conventional.

Those pictures were EXACTLY the reference shots I used to create Riou's robes for his wedding last month. I picked the belt from this one, and the top of that one... ^____^

WOOOOOOOOOW Yanagi-sen! I am super impressed!
How long did it take you to do that? And how much did you spend in materials?
