I didn't work constantly on it. I'm an art teacher so evenings and weekends are when I sew. I probably spent a month on it. I had some of the fabrics already, like the white chiffon. My luckiest find was the red brocade, with a small pattern. I also made the jewelry pieces, some by literally bending the wire myself. I also made a matching Japanese Heian robe for the other groom. Between the two of them... I probably put $40 or so into materials. Everything was purchased at my local small JoAnn Fabrics, yay coupons! I'm not entirely sure how much I spent because I kept having to go buy MORE gold trim. There's 12 feet just running around the gold chiffon skirt!
