Me too, and thanks, all of you, but that's why the whole BJD is the last thing on my mind just now. She won't eat at all today. Not even tuna juice. Vet says that's normal but I'm very worried. He says to just keep feeding her petro, and to make sure she's drinking fluids, which she is. He says hopefully it will work itself out and she'll be okay. May already be out of her. It might be just that her stomach is irritated. She's her usual cranky lovable self though just not wanting to eat and I guess I can't blame her for that. No one wants to eat when they have a tummy ache. She has thrown up minor amounts of blood and tons of liquid about half a dozen times now though and that is freaky to see. Vet says not to panic, it won't help her, and that this happens with cats who have an irritated stomach, but I can't help but wince every time it happens. I've raised her since she was a baby and I totally love her.

Oh gosh, that is absolutely horrible, I am so sorry and I really hope she'll be fine :(. Your post made me clean up the pieces of torn balloons we had lying around. Our kitties love playing with those pieces of rubber, but your post got me scared... I am keeping you and your kitten in my thoughts.

Oh, Evelein - NO balloons for animals (or plastic bags)! Even children under the age of six should not be given balloons to play with. The pieces can get stuck in their throats.

Magkelly, it's also possible that kitty scratched the lining of her esophagus which could cause her to not want to eat. Did the vet suggest anything like boiling chicken and offering her the cooled broth? Mine suggested that once when our puppy had been throwing up to the point he didn't want to eat much. Check with the vet first, though - in case he says differently.

Chicken or beef CONSOMME (not broth). That is what the vet told me to feed my cat when I got him through feline distemper. Consomme is much more concentrated than broth; it would take an entire day for you to make it yourself.

Mainly my vet wanted to be sure there was no garlic in the broth, which is why I made my own. Even the organic broth I had in the pantry has garlic in it.

She's doing a bit better this morning. I had been giving her the petro as per the vet's instructions but she still hadn't done a #2 by late last night, wasn't looking any better really. I was getting worried so I decided to try something else. I put a 3/4 of teaspoon of olive oil on her face and paws and made her eat that. I figured it had to be better than more petro, and probably was more palatable. I knew what she needed was some oil down there to ease things out. Olive Oil is a pretty good laxative when taken on it's own and so far as I know it's not toxic for cats. Sure enough it worked. Two hours later she barfed a little, no blood, just a little hair and a little olive oil tinged spit, then she went and dropped a big old stink bomb in the cat box. After that she seemed a lot happier and she did eat a little tuna last night.

She hasn't been so keen on breakfast as yet but I expected that. I'm going to woo her with some more tuna this afternoon. The oil in the fish is good for her right now. She does seem a lot more like herself this morning though so I think she's not nearly as nauseous as she was. The no blood in the barf this morning the vet says is a good sign. Still keeping a very close eye on her though. But she's been walking around and jumping up on chairs and asking for pets from me and the roommates so that's quite a relief to see that. She's not a layabout kind of cat, except when she's sleeping she's always on the move and looking for attention. If she stays in one spot all day with her head down ignoring people you know she's sick. She's not fully herself. She's a bit snappish yet but she's definitely looking a heck of a lot better than yesterday.

As for the Goodreau doll. They emailed me back and told me they only process CC through Pay Pal. I suppose I could go get a gift CC and do that but I'm not going to go do that just now. It's too much of a hassle right now. I don't want to go out while she's still sick and I just had $150 vet bill handed to me besides. Dad offered to cover part of that instead and I let him. It could be worse but still I'm thinking that putting off the BJD thing is a sensible idea. I did spurge on those 3 Alex dolls and I got the 2 from Goodwill yesterday so it's not like I am dolly deprived this month.

The BJD can wait for Christmas. I'm admittedly just suffering from a bad case of BJD envy because of all the pretty ones I see on here. That's two BJD's I've had trouble buying though. I figure maybe that's the universe telling me not to be so greedy and to wait a while?

Yes, it seems that when we are on the verge of finally obtaining something "grail" Murphy's Law walks through the door. I was about $50 from purchasing a Soul Doll Asen (which I still love) when our TV decided to die. One guess where the money came from to replace it......

Don't get too discouraged, though! You'll get that bjd!
