Looking for a Boy (found a doll, thank you!)

Postby mica » Mon Jul 16, 2012 10:43 am

I am due for some money in three months and I would like to buy a 1/4 juvenile boy
who is 'smiling' or at least friendly looking.
So far, this is all I have come up with=
http://www.iplehouse.net/shop/step1.php?number=2397

this guy is ok, but he looks a lot like my Anakin
http://www.impldoll.com/goods.php?id=333 Meh, changed my mind about him -

any other suggestions?

What's your budget? You're looking at dolls from two completely different price categories here ;)

And I'm assuming you'll get your boy with the company faceup?

Ditto what Evelien said, what kind of budget are you looking at? Any particular companies you like/dislike?

Have you looked at Luts Kid Delfs? They have a juvenile body. Here are some that are smiling/friendly:

KDelf Pine boy: http://www.eluts.com/shop/step1.php?number=138

KDelf Caju boy: http://www.eluts.com/shop/step1.php?number=134

KDelf Aru boy: http://www.eluts.com/shop/step1.php?number=125

and because my Momiji is one...
KDelf Ani boy: http://www.eluts.com/shop/step1.php?number=107

Here's a shot of what the body looks like:

Out of the DollZone boys, I think the following look happy:

Hal:

Melin:

Jake(in a quiet sort of way):

I think Mo's sculpt is happy, but more so if you're not getting a company faceup:

And Luke:

Goodie, lots of choices- more!more!
I have not formed an opinion about any company because I have never shopped before with foreign companies.
I just have a hard time with the photos not saying what skin color they are showing- I don't know what is what.
Paypal would be a plus.

Take for instance that doll "Colin" up there- Type A. what color would I select for his skin to look like that?

I see the picture and say 'ya, that' but then dont know whether it's 'pink' or what when asked to select.

I figure around $300 is good (?) then add on for company faceup and ?
My Anakin the only thing I dont like about him is his huge out of proportion hands, half-closed eyes.

I know I like them to have a cute nose and be human looking :)

edit- awww, scarecrow hal is cute,,,,

You can order DollZone, Fairyland, and Impldoll through Devner Doll Emporium. http://www.denverdoll.com/

DoA and Flickr are great places to find owner pictures.

If you like the doll but not the face-up, here and DoA have amazing face-up artists. Some charge the about the same price as a factory face-up.
I'm mostly on Tumblr now.

That's an Unoa, not sure which sculpt but it looks like a Lusis (girl face) to me... or perhaps an L-bi (boy face)..? Unoas are quite expensive, but they can be hybrided onto other bodies... I've done it too ^^
