The person probably spent more in gas driving back to Target than the difference between the dolls’ prices, not to mention all the work of repackaging to look original. Seems an awful lot of work to save a few bucks.

In related news, for some reason all of our local Targets and Walmarts are jam packed with massive amounts of Sweet 1600 Clawdeen/Draculaura/Frankie, main line Draculaura/Frankie, and Skull Shores Ghoulia Yelps that no one ever buys. They’ve been sitting on the shelves for weeks. I wish they’d get some new stuff in!

Same deal over here. I've seen a bunch of Cupids too, if anyone is still looking for her. And the witch/catgirl CAM set, and now I'm even seeing an abundance of the boy CAM set. I've also spotted a few double-torso sea monster sets.

I would love it if they got in some of the guys, instead of the CAM guys >_< I mean, the guys do nothing for me but after seeing retrograde's work on a Jackson I'm like... I could make him LIKEABLE TO ME.

I've seen a few Cupid and Witch/Cat around here... but I didn't buy them because I only want Cupid's wings and the dead-bird shirt.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

Strangely I’m hunting now for a main line Spectra even though we actually found and bought one a couple weeks ago (my wife sold her here, actually, since she didn’t need her and I wasn’t interested in dolls at the time :P). Hopefully she'll turn up again. I’m also thinking about the basic Frankie if I can find her...and maybe the Ghouls Rule Frankie and Draculaura.

Oh boy.

Hi Catshem's Hubby. Check on Ebay for used Basic Frankie's they sometimes turn up for decent prices. For Spectra it's all in the hunt.

Hi there! :) Yeah, I’ve been checking eBay for the dolls we’re interested in, but we try not to support the scalpers if we can help it. It’s not so much the price as the principle of the thing — people going into stores at opening, buying the entire stock, and immediately listing it on eBay. It’s also more fun to check stores and finally find it on the shelf. Still, if I get frustrated enough with the hunt, or if the price is reasonable and the scalper isn’t making too much money, I’ll surely go that route.

Speaking of the hunt, I’ve become rather addicted to it; I have a circuit of 3 Targets, 3 Walmarts, a K-Mart, a Toys-R-Us, and (now that I know they carry MH) a Justice that I’ve been running periodically trying to surprise my wife with Venus (which we ended up finding together...so much for surprise). For those who have played WoW, it’s just like raiding — you run an instance and see what items drop, and you can only check once a week or it won’t have reset yet. It’s also equally frustrating when what you need doesn’t drop! :P

Try hunting for no more than $40 with free shipping as it usually costs around $10 to send a doll Priority. I'll go that high comfortably figuring out "taxes" for gas, time, and impatience.

With my books and reroots I've about evened out on incoming and out going Monster Money so I don't even keep track. With things as they are over here as long as the Monster is within my comfort price zone I'm not going to give a **** because this is my chosen hobby.
