Your faceups for Robin Goodfellow and John Murdock were perfect for the characters and the best male faceups I've ver seen. Maybe it's because the dolls are just dolls for you, with no characters or backstories? I know the one I have that is that way is the one I just use as a mannequin.

K2, I still do a bit of modeling. Well...not really. I have a bunch of boxed and mostly half-built kits around me. Hm..I tend to lose interest in these things as well.

VV, maybe that's it. Back then my dolls have names, stories, etc etc. I guess buying multiple dolls all the time kinda backfired on me. Because I didn't have time to really bond with any of them. I'm always on the look out for the next best thing.

I kinda envy a lot of you that actually do "play" with your dolls. I enjoy seeing the photos you take and the photostories you create with them. Heck, I kinda envy when people simply just dresses up their dolls in different outfits just for the fun of it.

I have developed this collector-mentality. That my dolls have to remain as mint as possible. Not exactly sure when or how that happened, but I'm beginning to hate it.

Have you thought about purposefully buying your dolls second hand? I know that, as strange as it may seem, I always feel like dolls I've purchased from other people seem to invite play more readily than ones I purchase directly from companies. I don't know if it's because they feel like they have a bit more history, or have been around the block a few more times, or simply don't have that 'new doll' smell as it were.

I've bought quite a bit of second-hand dolls actually. (Mainly from a friend who have a problem with impulse buying) I guess I should stop shopping for dolls and shop for accessories, like clothes, shoes, wigs, eyes, etc etc.

I mean...I have 20+ BJDs, but only have 4 pair of shoes between them.

Aw screw it. I'll try to get out of this funk by taking doll pics later.

Well, this is what I would do.

I'd look carefully at each sculpt and at a baby name site(s) and find the perfect name, not only in how it sounds but what it means.

Then I would come up with a brief backstory (or, cough, ask *someone* who *specializes* in such things, cough) to do so for me.

Then start looking at or even designing outfits that would fit that character.

Then start grouping them in sets that go together. I only have two groups for my dolls (The Elven Court, which being magic, fits the anthros too) and the Secret World Superheros. The only doll I have that doesn't fit either is Nameless Model, my mannequin.

Here's a fairly outrageous idea for a fun doll. What if the Marilyn Monroe character from "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds", Lorelei Lee, wasn't just a sweetnatured, gold-digging showgirl? What if she was ALSO a real Lorelei? This would give you a wide scope for outfits: showgirl outfits, 50s glamor outfits, and medieval water nymph outfits.
