Does anyone know of Blythe or Liv rebody tutorials?

Postby Taxel » Thu Jul 26, 2012 8:16 pm

So today I decided to put my Blythe on a spare Liv body. And, well, its not as easy as I was made to think. I tried looking for tutorials online (Google and YouTube), and found nothing. But I was told it was easy so I shrugged it off. I had my boyfriend unscrew all the screws in the Blythe head, and it did absolutely nothing. I tried looking for Liv tutorials, and got the same result of nothing except for one answer site thing saying to just head the head with a hairdryer and it would pop right off. That is not how it worked. I got her head very hot, and there was something still holding it in there. I do NOT want to break the Liv head/body so I stopped, and I am not just going to poke around my Blythe and try to force her head open (she was $500, and I can't afford food, so replacement of either girl is completely impossible).

Are there any tutorials for at least rebodying a Blythe? i need a very detailed one with good photos. I'm so beyond frustrated. How can it be this hard to find a Blythe tutorial?

Sorry I can't help you... I just pulled the head off my Liv and it came off easily enough...

Try googling "blythe rebody tutorial" or "blythe head removal turtorial" and see if anything comes up.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

"Blythe rebody tutorial" got me nothing, but "blythe head removal tutorial" pulled up a few results. However there are all these acronyms I don't understand. SBL, RBL, etc etc. I have no idea what they mean. This is so much more frustrating than I was lead to believe. >.<

Well, when I pulled Blythe's head off, I had to do some prying. Try searching "Changing Blythe Body. I got lots of things, including:

Do you *have* to remove the spring to open a Blythe head? I don't have tweezers, a crochet hook, or anything else I could use and can't afford to buy one. I regret even thinking about this so much.

There should be a pair of tweezers in every first aid kit if that helps! If it doesn't: be inventive and look around at what you have in your house that you can use. We doll owners need to be creative sometimes :-P

The LIV's head are easy to remove. Take a 2 cup measuring cup and stick it in the microwave for about 2 min. You want it hot, not boiling. Place doll sitting in sink and pour the hot water over head. Take doll out and use a towel (because head is hot and you don't want to get burn) and pull head off. You could also remove the hair wig and just soak the head in the hot water then pull it off.

I pop off Liv heads sans hot water all the time actually. Never broken one yet, but hot water always helps if a doll's head is stiff. Blythe I am told can be tricky. I don't know if I'd want to do that one if I was new to popping off heads.
