I bought a vinyl figure to paint from Michael's last October. I finally started painting it today and I am giving it a textured surface.


Michael's has these back in stock again for $3.99. They also have other shapes - a cat, something with a witches hat, and Frankenstein. They also have more non-theme ones in a different section.

The mold making process has begun for my bat/demon/dragon wings, so while I wait to acquire silicone, I've decided to try my hand at feathered wings. Note to self: Sketch before sculpting. I think I'm going to completely start over on them, after consulting my girlfriend's giant bird book to get a good sense for wings.

Thanks! I'll have to put it on hold for a few days since I want to spend time with my visiting stepson (grad student). However, I did get the rest of the sanding done so I'm ready to get messy with stain!

Okay, I scrapped the feathered wings for now and started playing with fairy wings.



Here they are on a YoSD, though they're meant for MSD.


Got them on a MNF, but then they kept drooping. Good thing I still have a LOT of work left on these. Now if my LTF would only give them back so I could keep working...

Will eventually finish even though I'm not really working on it at the moment:

-Franziska's outfit
-Sabine's outfit and accessories
-Sabine's faceup
-cleaning out my bookshelves to make room for dollieh "apartments"

Stuff I forgot about on that list:
-make/buy more 1/6th girl clothes, because I can't seem to stop bringing 1/6th girls into the house and I'm running out of things to dress them in
-finish Katan's faceup (He's mostly done but needs his eye area painted)

All of that, plus now I need to do faceups for Crow (Hujoo Sara) and my Dollfie Plus girl (another pesky 1/6th lady... haven't decided who she is yet)

Got the bed and the table stained today.




Made a full (doll) sized mockup of the shell of the wardrobe trunk steamer.
The arcane red scribblings show the size and placement of the hinges (5 total) and latches (6 total) and corner-protectors (8 total) and so on will go.



The left hand side will have hangers and the right side a stack of drawers.
The real version will be made of thin plywood, covered with lightweight canvas, and trimmed out in brass everything. I might get it done by mid-September. Maybe.
I will not allow myself to start cutting plywood until the bed and table are done! (need varnishing and assembly).
