Thanks, but no, lol. It's better than it was yesterday. I just changed the bandage et all. Put new Neosporin on it. Seems a lot better actually though it still smarting a little. I did open a bounce putty and make a couple of quick molds out of the stuff and a pair of old Gene shoe bottoms. Took the mold better than the silicone putty I paid $12 for I think. I'm going to get it dry for a couple of days as suggested but then I'm going to try pouring resin in. If I am right I will have pretty clear acrylic heels for my 16" girls. I have some vinyl I will cut to use with that to make the top of the shoes. If it all works okay I may try casting a 3 piece mold and doing a whole shoe. I'm glad I bought all 12 containers of this stuff though. I had to use almost a whole container to do one pair of shoe molds. For flat molds you might get more but making shoe soles apparently takes a lot of it.
These containers aren't all that big. I may go over to the other Dollar Tree and grab a few more if it works with the poly clay and the resin okay. I do have to get some vaseline. Even with freezing the mold for a bit the shoe heel stuck a bit. It came out sans distortion because I was careful but a little vaseline to act as a mold release first wouldn't hurt. One thing I read somewhere online that this type of putty can sort of dissolve over time so these molds they may not last practically forever like the silicone ones. It doesn't matter really. With the bounce putty I can always make new ones if I need to. This stuff is cheap, unlike the silicone. I'm also reading that crayola model magic can be used for flex molds. I'll have to try that one too. But I don't think I'll be wasting much money on the silicone stuff anymore.
I'm determined to cast shoes for all my big girls and maybe the small girls too. I have long envied JemGirl her skill at making clear and colored clear resin shoes. Her shoes for Jem and the MT's are to die for but I just can't afford $10 a pair for them. She's mostly making MH shoes now besides. I want to do some special designs, really make glass slipper type shoes besides. The resin bases are only a start. I want to do them with real crystals and stuff like the $35 and up shoes they're making for the Sybarites and such.
