What grinds my gears......

Postby Nelly19 » Wed Aug 08, 2012 9:42 pm

No not when my obitsu joints rub together and squeak, but when am saving for a new buddy and LIFE smacks me with another bill! I had over half the money need for my 48cm obitsu ready to add to my debit account for saving till this Monday after I get paid to buy her.....and ya know what am down to 80 bucks >.<

I feel like everytime I get close, the devil, satan, the evil one (whoever you believe in) comes and takes my money!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
..
...
....
Ok ok, so I decided when I get paid, what is owed me by friends and my first part of this months salary am gonna shuffle my budget (hold out on driving lessons) and just splurge and make up the balance and but her. It's like a pain in the gluteus that this keeps happening.....but I am not gonna stress am gonna live cause she will be my first big one and I will be rooting her head and customizing her to the "T". ........ And what ever extra bills come up I will simply say I can't help ya I ain't got the money!

Anyone ever get like this?

I know how you feel. I've been saving up to get a PC this year and then some changes in my job was suppose to happen last few months got drag on another two months. And since I don't want to be caught without spare cash I have to hold off purchasing.

By now my money is split 3-4 ways by the addition of two potential dolls....

Oh are you sure you want to root a big Obitsu? There are plenty of wig options and some places that customise wigs

Yeah, I hate it when stuff like that happens...

Except right now for me it is kind of the opposite. I have plenty of money, but work is eating all my TIME (which is why I have more money than usual). And any time I have off from work, it's like: OK DOLL TIME... but then I end up just laying on the couch and taking a nap instead, because I'm too tired to mess with any fiddly little things like sewing tiny clothes or painting faces...
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

Yep. I've been saving for a K-30 which is the new Pentax DSLR not just because I want one but because I actually need a slightly more accurate auto focus and a 2nd more weather proof body for work. I do a lot of work in studio but I do get requests for shoots at the beach and stuff. I'm using a K-x now which is a great camera but the K-30 is a much better camera for a pro. I just got to $250 of the $1000 or so that I'm going to need for the kit I want to get and I now have a vet bill and a dentist bill to pay off. So no K-30, not until I can get them both paid off. I was planning on it by Christmas, but it looks like next year maybe now...

Welcome to life. I was hoping to use my last tax return to paid down (or pay off) my car, so I wouldn't have that monthly payment any more... when the pump in my well died. Then after they pulled the well and installed the new pump, I had a leak in the pipe that connects the well to the house and they had to come back. *sigh* There went my tax return, no getting ahead, which means no dollieh money. -_-;

By the above comment I'm gonna assume you have a hairstyle, color and material in mind. I rooted 1/6ers before and half the time I swear I'm never gonna do it again but then some wigs don't have the colors I want

Here's a list to rummage throuh.
Formydoll (You gotta be a little paitent with them, english is not their strong suit but they came out ok for me)

You might want to check out Happy Camille

Where I get Monqiue wigs

Compannies like like Dollmore, Leeke carries wigs too.

Thanks! and yes i do, I rooted my first 1/6 and even though my fingers are still kinda bruised i feel like she is more of a ne of a kind doll. Just a labor of love ^.^ plus am not the kind to change a dolls "look" if i do i tend to create a different rooted head and face and everything. I just give them one identity :S wierd complex i have.

understandable. my rooted and wig dolls have their default identity but the wigged ones get to play around with wigs and do cosplay like the rooted ones.

good luck, i curious to see a big one get rooted

I have to admit I was also going to question rooting a larger doll. Even though the heads are vinyl, you know they aren't really the same as 1/6 size. FIrst off there is a head cap - so there will be a sort of gap in your rooting and you'll have to root partially in the cap and partially on the rest of the head or it will look wierd.

The right wig can be hard to find - but it is soooooooooo worth it. Or you can even make your own wig. Even if you never change it (and hey, most of my dolls are in the same wig that I first bought for them so I hear what you say on that) it will be a lot easier to work with. And I've rooted 1/6s before as well so I"m speaking from experience too :)
