Erm... now it's 4 Iplehouse dolls

Excitement tinged with a bit of disappointment. They are definitely gorgeous! But their ankles drive me nuts! I know that sounds odd, but all I've done so far is take these 2 pics and try some wigs on them, but as I've been moving them around, the ankles keep going askew and the joint there for either of them is not smooth at all. It doesn't slide back around into position well. I have to pull the foot out from the leg and set it back in position. Knees and elbows are a bit annoying to slide back in too if you let them pop out. Think I need to tighten the guy's vertical stringing since his legs keep collapsing on him, but he's very heavy, so I'm kind of wondering how if maybe the weight is just too much for the string.

Originally I wanted these 2 to be a couple from one of my stories. Asa's face is what started me on dolls in the first place and it's absolutely perfect to represent Lynn! But...she should have a more delicate willowy figure. So when I originally bought her, I did do it with the intent that I may switch her head with another body later on. To fit with her man, she'd need to be 58-60 cm also, whereas this doll is 65cm, but I THINK the head might still look alright on a shorter body.

Now with the guy though... I had ordered the wrong body because Iplehouse's display pics are confusing. I got the super hero body as opposed to the model body. Now wouldn't you think that super hero would suggest being taller, more defined and more veiny? But it's not! The super hero body is shorter, stockier, less muscular definition and no sculpted veins. So I AM disappointed about that.... But I found that out right before it shipped and as the order had already been custom made, I couldn't change it, but at least I knew it was going to be that way ahead of time. May pull the head switching thing with him too.

As things are right now though I'm not sure what to call them yet.... it's Lynn's head on her little sister's body (never found the perfect name for her) and Alexander's head on ...maybe Shen's body (Lynn's little brother she has and older sister and older brother, and a younger sister and younger brother, though I do not intend to represent the whole family as dolls!).

I guess i'll just call them by their heads even though they don't have properly matching bodies yet.

So, Lynn and Alexander have come to town! (sort of) hehe

Congrats, even if you are disappointed, they ARE stunning. :) The IH ankles bother me too. Their dolls are absolutely gorgeous, but in my opinion they're not the best posers.

They are gorgeous! I love her wig! And bad posers or not, their esthetics more than make up for that. lol

Yeah, I understand about the ankles. My JID Ryan's ankles drive me nuts, too. They're very pretty ankles, just not well-designed for convenience of posing. I kind of like the mobility joints in the thighs, though, and how the leg can lift instead of just turning.

The other thing is finding clothes that fit them. lol I have to buy Rory his own wardrobe 'cause he's too big for regular MSD clothes (especially since my other MSD boys are a minifee and a kid delf), but too small for most SD clothes. I can only imagine how big the EID boys are!

Fortunately I like sewing hehe, so size isn't an issue for me ^_^ Well... except for all the fabrics that I always want to buy and the fact that I have to buy more to make larger sizes!

I agree about the appearance making up for the maneuverability. I knew that they weren't going to be the most posable dolls, but like I said, it was Asa's face that primarily made me dive in, and those sculpts are my favorite doll sculpts EVER! It's too bad there aren't various body shapes. I love their curvy hips, but would be nice if they had some slimmer models or various other types.

Oh yeah, Alexander is huuuuuuge! He has a hulking thick torso, very heavy. Think he weighs over 6 lbs.

Still... those darned ankles! lol

XD Thanks! I can't wait to get to blushing them, but the weather really hasn't been cooperating at all :/

I'm finally learning how to use this airbrush that an X-boyfriend gave me 5 years ago for this lol. Hoping I can get some more even effects with it.
