Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Dolls!

Postby DeadlyVixen » Thu Jul 29, 2010 10:16 pm

Who doesn't adore the Sailor Soldiers and Villainnesses of the Dark Kingdom?! Sailor Moon is my favorite anime and will always have a special place in my heart. The characters are colorful and expressive, the storyline is great and complex, and the art is beautiful! So naturally Sailor Moon Dolls are epic :D I'm sure many of you have at least one doll from the series. Please discuss which you own, your favorite, the ones that you think dont due the characters justice, and best of all please post pictures!

I own Beauty Change Sailor Jupiter, Sailor R Makoto, Sailor Team Jupiter, and Irwin Sailor Jupiter(both "pretty" and "ugly" faced though I think the "ugly" is beautiful :P) my favorite would probably have to be my Beauty Change I just love her face! I also love Sailor R Makoto since she's the only casual version I have but I think her face is the least pretty. I love all my Mako-chans though :D

EDIT; Forgot to mention the 17inch Irwin dolls, those are defamation of character

Oh my goodness! They are what started me into 27cm customized dollfies!

In 1998, I had started collecting the BanDai America dolls, but never could find Moon! (Only Venus at every Kay-bee!) so then I found a magazine with a mail order company that could send me the Japanese BanDai dolls! There I found out about the Outer senshi and Starlights and it just snowballed from there!
I'm a huge 'set' collector and so had to get all 19 main senshi and the 3 cats for every set.

From 1998 - 1999, I managed to collect all the BanDai Japan (mostly Beauty Change series as they had the best faces) 27cm set of 19 dolls; the Irwin Canada set of 11.5" of 11 senshi, and custom made the missing 8 dolls; the Irwin America set of 11.5" dolls, I finished in 2003? I think when they came out, and in 1999/2000, I made my own set of Volks Sailors, but included all their 'boyfriends,' too, since that would be my favorite set. ^^
Hmmm....I need to get them all out of their curio cabinet for a group photo!!! Especially since I've redone most of their heads and faceups since their last photograph session!!! :laughs:

Additionally, for others, I've made almost all the villains and a lot of friends dolls (Beryl, 4 Generals, 4 Sisters, Witches 5(6), Amazon Trio, Galaxia, Animamates and more) and a 60cm Obitsu Sailor Saturn doll.

My favorite characters are Sailor Star Maker & Sailor Pluto, so recently I made a set of 70/60cm Dollfie Dreams of them; and my sister has just finished her Sailor Star Fighter & Sailor Uranus set!

I don't have any sailor scout dolls, yet. But, my mission this summer has been to see all of the series. I have gotten to episode #160 so far. I think I want to make Helios and Rini dolls.

I have a complete set of the American SM dolls, except somehow over the years Sailor Mars seems to have lost one of her high heels. O.o They can't hold anything to the Japanese versions, but since I was once a huge SM junkie, I am still fond of them.
"Dolls love to be played with. They are lonesome if you leave them always in a box. How would you like to be left day after day alone, with no one to love you?"
