She's VERY easy to pose. She wont' stand alone at all because silicone is very heavy, but I think her skeleton is a bit like an armature skeleton. I know it's made of various materials, metal and urathane amongst them, but no matter what position you put her in, she'll stay as long as you can brace her gravity-wise. I bought finger wire for her, but they only go half way down her fingers, so her last knuckle isn't posable :/ and since she is silicone, her feet look lovely when you point her toes, but that's just the ankle joint movement and the silicone adjusting around the movement makes it smooth. The feet and toes themselves have no skeletal joints in them, so you can't bend them to curve like ballerina feet. But everything else about her is wonderful. She can arch her back, slouch forward or lean side to side all along her spine very nicely. Her neck will also move just about any way you would want it to.

the only thing I worry about is the durability of the silicone. For instance, if you leave her in a standing position very often, the skeleton can begin wearing through the feet. Also, if you leave silicone creased too long ( believe it's quite a while though, like weeks), like an elbow or knee joint bent far enough to create a crease, that crease will crack and tear eventually when you unbend the joint.

One other thing I reaaally hate about silicone is that EVERYTHING sticks to it! Every single stray piece of lint, hair, thread or fur... and since silicone is a bit rubbery, it's hard to pick the dirt off! Powdering them can help a bit, but of course that's a bit messy for wherever you leave her, and for the clothes that you put her in.

You'll notice her feet are a teensy bit small and that's because since silicone is rubbery, her feet wouldn't be able to slip into 1/3rd size shoes so easily. They have to be smaller to wear the same sizes without having a hard time squeezing them in.

For some more poses, you can see some pics on jeerymaya's ebay page where i bought her:

What other kinds of dolls do they make? (or do I want to ask?)

I also think the anime head looks a little out of place on such a realistic body. I wonder why they don't make a more realistic head? If I remember correctly arte tokyo made more realistic heads?

I used to collect vintage dolls and one of them was made with wires. You do need to be careful that you don't overbend them and break them. Probably the best of both worlds would be a metal internal skeleton constructed like the skeleton inside of Obitsus, with some type of ball or hinge joint that would take the stress of bending the joint, inside of a silicone body.

Can't wait to see her with her new head!

Lovely Doll only makes anime type heads, but yeah, Arte Tokio makes more realistic looking faces although I still don't like those either... they look kind of I don't know... to me a bit sickly or something, but their faces are definitely childish. So since I didn't like their heads either, I figured why pay $500 or so more if I'm still not really going to like it?

You can click "Order" at the menu to see a drop down list of different categories.
they also make one child-like 40cm and some 1/6 size silicone dolls.

Arte Tokio also now makes adult dolls, but I think they moved those to a different site.
One reaaally cool thing that I love is that they make full sized dolls that are like 13 year old girls and a model that's like 10 or so I think that are NOT for sex. They are soooo adorable! May sound a bit crazy, but it seems like they would be nice as a sort of surrogate daughter for those of us who have decided never to go down the family route, but kind of wish we didn't have to miss out on motherhood.

Well, it certainly wouldn't be any stranger than some of the reborn collectors who have rooms for their babies, take them out in baby buggies, etc.

hehe I wouldn't go that far, but it would be nice to have a small wardrobe for her and dress her up and take some cute pictures of her every so often. Sit her on the couch sometimes and pretend she's watching TV with me. Ug I'm pathetic!

You know, I just realized that I totally forgot to mention that the head isn't shipping till mid-September :( ...yet more waiting... By that point I may have actually had time to sculpt my own and cast it in silicone to match the body!

np Perla, hope it helped you :)
Just curious, but what was it that made you decide that you don't want a silicone doll anymore?

I really love mine, I just kind of feel like I have to treat her with kid gloves which kind of ruins the fun factor of the great skeletal frame and lack of visible joints.

I remember being curious about Arte Tokio's fairies. They are 52cm tall and look so eerily real. I imagined the poor things would get very linty, and I also worried about their durability. Constant handling and washing will eventually break down the silicone. They're so beautiful though - if I had a glass display hutch I would be so tempted to buy one.
