Amelia Arrives

Let the Squealing and Silliness Commence.

Image

My Impldoll has arrived. This is the first doll I ordered and the second to arrive. I'm glad the Resinsoul arrived first since the Impldoll poses and holds poses much better than the RS. If my expectations had been set by the Impldoll, I would have been quite disappointed.

The wrapping bordered on the obsessive. Which I appreciated

I went for the free head offer, picking up an Erica (Star) head. I found the Antonia (Model) the least objectionable of the model sculpts, and I wanted a Model body so that's what I ordered. I also bought high heel feet.
So. That's a Model body, a Model (Antonia) head, a Star (Erica) head, and high heeled feet. All designated to become a doll called Amelia.
Clear?
Good.

I immediately swapped out the head and the feet.

The Star size head's neck opening is a bit gappy on a Model neck but I like the Erica face a lot so I'll cope. (I'll confess, I was not expecting a faceup on my second head, so now I'm in a quandary. I might change Regina's face (the Resinsoul Dai) sometime since I have eyes and eyelashes and all kinds of stuff on hand.)

I decided to use one of the Monique wigs for her. It is a super curly wig and a little brushing got the curls mostly to waves.
The Perfect Patterns skirt and blouse I made fit OK but the waist of the skirt is too large and the hip is really too small. No one can say the Impldoll is not curvy!
The shoes are from Suntek. And the bunchy Doll Secret stockings are my fault. I kept getting confused about which way her feet were facing relative to the knees, relative to the hips so I think in some pictures I took (I will spare you) her knees are pointing entirely the wrong way.

And just so you can keep my vast horde (ha ha ha ha - funny!) of dolliehs straight, here are all two of them:

Regina (Queenie) on the left and Amelia on the right. (yes, I have tried setting Regina's hair. The big scarf is covering drinking-straw curlers).

Amelia's full name is Amelia Jeanette Montgomery Wilcombe. AKA Mrs. Amelia J. Wilcombe. AKA Meely (only by Regina)

Judging from the pic of her laying on the floor, that face is beautiful! Such a pretty doll.
perhaps some hot glue sueding, possibly even mole skin, could help with the "gappiness" with the neck?

Congrats! If I ever get a 1/3 doll - and I am seriously thinking about it again - it'll be an Impldoll Aigne :)

Thanks! I am pleased with the coat too, although there are some fit issues.
I was astounded how the multiplicity of joints in the Impldoll helped make the "coat off" shot look really great.

I reviewed the pattern I used for it, although in my review it is on my Resinsoul, whose shoulders are far to narrow for the coat

Oh whow, that looks so neat!
Small scale sewing is still a bit intimidating to me ^^° hard to believe from someone who spent half their childhood sewing for their Barbie dolls, but there you are ... it was trial and error back then, but somehow, inexplicably, I appear to have grown up enough to want to at least have a vague idea of what I'm doing before I actually start.
There's a cat in "complicated" =^.^=

She looks great!
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@
