Taobao Buying Tutorial

Problem is estimating the weight of the order. I took a stab in the dark guessing at 10kg, hoping it will be less than that. It's a lot of cloth that I bought but some of it is very light weight like chiffon and taffeta and such.

Eesh, I underestimated the weight. Probably all the cotton linen that I bought weighed more than I guessed.
Turns out to be 12.4 kg (about 27 lbs) so shipping cost is $204.
So my order total comes to $438, which is still a lot better than $782 and that U.S. price was calculated on the low end, so I probably saved more.

Wow, thank you, that's good information to think about. That's wild when you think about it that half your cost was shipping.

I just got my order yesterday and I'm definitely happy with my choices! Took some pictures today with my EID Asa in them for sizing. For those who don't know, she's a 65cm doll, so one of the big ones.

First, just the box after I had taken inventory and put everything back in. It was packed tight, so I couldn't get it even close to all stuffed back in lol



The brocades, just as impressive irl as they were in the pics!:


Left pile is cotton knits for shirting and such, right pile is stretch satins. I have a thing for it, but these aren't as stretchy as I would have liked Still, they look great! Just won't be as easy to use as had thought.


Chiffons and taffeta:

Faux leather scraps! All this for just $1.27! Not much you can do with them for people, but soooo many things you can do with these for dolls! If it wasn't for the cost of shipping, I'd buy 10 more of these assortments right now!
