Grrrr.... I really wish I'd gotten more sleep!

I won the two auctions I mentioned back on 7/30 and hopefully I'll get them today. From what I can tell, it looks like the seller sent both pieces in the same shipment. That would be great since it would tie everything up and allow me to get underway. On the down side, there was yet another auction for the same item that I forgot to bid on before it closed. It wasn't absolutely crucial to my immediate needs but it would've been nice to have had an extra. OK, enough sleep-deprived, vague blathering.

And... the newest two members of the Evil Clone Army of Doom (and Evil!) have arrived. I didn't want to jinx this by talking about it before everything was at hand to work on it. Basically, this is just a rework of my Masked Germanic Archetype project I'd shown around the old 13 Doll forum a couple of years ago. For those who haven't seen it before, here's an example:

Future discussions will be in the 1/6 scale forum but a couple of changes will include new, more photogenic paint for the faces (No more green with white eyes since, as Tigerbaby noted, it made them look like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! ) and dropping the use of the khaki/ochre greatcoat. I only had two anyway and the Sideshow Bayonets and Barbwire line the uniforms came from has gotten too expensive and hard to find for any on-line retailers to part them out. No big loss because the quality was kind of "so-so" anyway. The greatcoats will be replaced with a knee-length coat that's made from a splinter pattern camo material.

The bottom line is that one of the Obitsu girls' favorite vacation spots (my back yard) is about to be "repatriated" by thuggish sturmtruppen... *AHEM* uh, Valiant Defenders of the neighboring Volksrepublik.

*headdesk* My brother broke his glasses and decided to fix them himself. With gorilla glue.

And he sliced his hand open at work, had to get five stitches, and now he's complaining about how everyone's wasted his day and whining about how no, my parents didn't need to listen to the paramedics or take him to get fixed. Because my brother's an idiot.

I swear, there must be some sane fifteen year olds somewhere, I know because I was one, but man, some of them need locked up for their own protection and our sanity.



Yesterday was the local doll club's picnic and I bought Ryo a loooong white wig (it's a Volks, very slight wave at the ends with bangs. lil big, but when I put a couple of those big rubber bracelets on his head it worked), and now I think I'm going to have to get him two pairs of fox ears! One pair to match to his usual red wig that matches the fox tail I have, and another to make silver and get a new grey tail at Renfaire this year. And get him a mid or dark grey or silver hakama. Maybe a kimono.

Speaking of kimono, once I got to the end of that train of thought, I somehow decided that I needed to make him a full cosplay of Dream from the Sandman graphic novels. The costume from the end. and maybe one of the earlier ones too. So now he'll need new fur wigs, and elaborate costuming, and eyes. XD Help, my brain is running away with me! XDDD

The eyes will be the hard part, he doesn't have normal eyes. They're all black, with stars in them. I found a pair that will kind of work at Mint On Card, glass with black sclera and pupil and a smokey black iris, not exact but maybe good enough if I can't find another pair. I think to get an exact match I'll either have to comission or make them myself. I'm thinking that maybe something fauceted embedded where the pupil should be might give the right effect. In the hole of a black 16mm bead? Or perhaps something with glitter...need to take a closer look at the artwork.

I've been kind of, I don't know, not out of the hobby by any means but just really going through a phase where I didn't feel very social. But a lot of what is so appealing about this hobby are the people that you meet, the exchange of ideas, and admiring other people's dolls. So, the short short version is....I'm baaaack.

Those are cute. Sake cups are usually about the size of a shot glass. I'd say these are for tea or beverages in general.
