grr... this is going to take some real training. It's taking a while to learn how thick I need to make the cap in various places. Think it's best if I make it thick up to 1/4 inch from the edges and the sideburns will have to me thick to lay on the face, because too thin and it peels up at the bottoms. It's really hard to get the thickness even when laying it on. You can see when I did the adhesive layer I missed or made it too thin in some spots, so there's some bald spots just because of that.

Since this this batch of fibers was on it's 2nd try already they stopped working too early in. I have yet to figure out how to get fibers to work again once they've been used, although you're supposed to be able to reuse the loose/fallen fibers.

Overall it's progress though and it's hard to see in the pictures because this camera I have keeps focusing on the background instead of the foreground :/ but this one his nice and fuzzy. In the picture with the flash, the light makes the silicone reflect so you can't tell in that one, but you can see the direction of the hair better in that one. You can see that on this try I was able to use a straw to blow the hair in a specific direction.

I've really enjoyed watching your progress on this project. It's really very ambitious and I'm amazed at the amount of improvement in such a short time. Your last couple with the short fibers are pretty cute; I think you should definitely save them. They may not be right for the character you're working on, but they definitely have merit.

Oh yeah I'm definitely keeping the old ones. It's like keeping your old sketches hehe.
Not sure how and where I should store them though.

Thanks zirconmermaid :D

Today's experiment... ug, it looked so good at first, but then after the initial brushing and then after the pictures, I rubbed the wig more to see how tight the fibers were (I always do this) and turns out most of the fibers could be pulled out :( Maybe I actually went too thin on the adhesive layer this time... Tomorrow I'm going to try the longer untreated fibers again just to see how they act with this set up.

With today's wig though, I like how the fibers look all directed outwards from the center. Here's some shots:

I'm still curious about the flock you used. What does the package look like, what does it look like loose, and what colors does it come in? I really hope it at least comes whitish since whitish can be dyed.

Except for the first experiment, I used Citadel's burnt grass flock:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002Q2 ... d_i=507846

because I was buying some purity seal at a Gameworks Shop and just saw it there and picked one up. I looked online to see if it came in different colors, but can't seem to find anything :(

I got a huge disappointment 2 days ago when I received the flock samples from Don Jer. They were extremely fine which I think was a problem, but they arrived in small packs tightly clumped so I spent like an hour pulling the fibers apart only to have them tightly bunch up again after only 2 shakes of my flocker :/

I tried only using a pinch of fibers and tried using all the lengths, but the same thing keeps happening. Just one or 2 shakes and the fibers cling together into a tight ball.

Even if I can get them to work, I think I might prefer thicker fibers so I wrote back to them again to ask them if they have different thicknesses, but I also wrote to Cellusuede since they have a larger variety of types and thicknesses.

No word back from them yet though.
