i used this on Zig's vinyl head.
http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/s ... down/09107
it's a brush on, so a bit of a pain, but it won't melt the vinyl.
anything aresol makes softer vinyl (like MH heads) sticky as hell and a pita. but a brush on sealer works.
it's a small bottle but it goes a long way :)

Lovely, and that was all over my Delilah? Aarrrgh!!!! But she looks okay. No melting that I can see. (Tosses nasty Krylon can in garbage can as she types...)

Well, I'm mostly done except for eye lashes and a bit of clean up and the sealer but I can't say I had a good time doing this girl. This doll was the most incredibly difficult doll to custom. Her sculpt definitely isn't kind to a less than stellar artist. She has almost no eyelids so putting any kind of shadow on her was very difficult and the right side of her mouth and bottom lip are a nightmare to get right. She's still a bit blotchy from the stupid sealer too. The blush just wouldn't apply right on one side. I worked around it, gave her a bit of intentional blotch on the other side, and freckles, but this is the last time I will ever attempt to fully OOAK a Delilah Noir. As it is I'm going to have to wipe her eyes and try again on those tomorrow, sigh...

Hot damn I finally did it! This evening's effort just didn't do it for me so I wiped her yet again. While I am wiping her down I hear this little voice in my head say "Goth." and I was like "NO, you're supposed to be a cute normal redheaded girl." and again I hear this little voice say more loudly "GOTH!" Sighing I said "Okay, you win, but one more major f-up and I warn you I will wipe you again and you will go into the box and you'll stay a mannequin until I can afford a proper face up job!" So, guess who painted up like a dream for me after that? Uhuh, Ms Damiana Noir!!!

Bubble Gum Girl is Delilah. D&D is Dahlia and this one is Damiana because it totally fits her! I'd have to get a 4th doll to make a proper ginger redhead I guess but I'm not going there. She can just humor me and switch off between a black wig and a dark gothic red one once I find me one in her size and in the meantime she can just wear what's available because I am not giving her D&D's pink and black wigs no matter how much she covets them! She insists she wants to be Gothic Lolita #2 she can just wait until I can figure out what to put on her that doesn't make her look too much like Dahlia. I'm thinking dark wine or black and vamp red maybe...

All I have to do now is wait for her to fully dry, put her sealer on, and put in new eyes and lashes. I've got black lashes for her and some green eyes I think I am going to use. I have other colors but the green so far is just the only Liv eye color that seems to work for these dolls. Anything else just doesn't really pop. I need to work on that. Finding them some great eyes. They can't all have green eyes even if they are supposed to be sisters...

I should have pics soon. She has to dry overnight then again when I do her lashes for a few hours. But then I can outfit her and finally take pics of my 3 BJD girls. This has been a heck of a month. I'm still hacking and sneezing and I've gone from no BJD's to having three. It's not even Halloween as yet, sheesh....

I will, soon. I still haven't gotten her freakin eyelashes in yet!!! I actually painted some wispie black ones, because she's supposed to look like she's wearing goth black eyeliner and falsies, but I also wanted a strip of black ones actually in there and so far getting them back in has really been near impossible for me. I'm obviously not a natural at this, lol. I do try but some of the repaints I've seen on here totally outclass mine. The doll lashes I got are very stiff. I'm thinking I might need to order something a bit less so to be able to put them in. This doll, she is the hardest doll to work with. I've never had to work so hard or experienced so much frustration with any doll I've tried to custom. I'm never doing another one beyond a lip change and adding some eye glitter that's for sure. Once she's got her lashes back in I'm not touching her ever again, period. She may not end up being the best OOAK doll on the planet but soon as her lashes are back in she's DONE.

Strike that, I just wiped her again and I'm not too sure I care if she ever gets a proper face up at this point. She was totally dried and I thought sealed but when I went to make a second attempt at putting in her lashes her left eye paint totally came off. Like I said, NOTHING wants to stick to this doll, at least not for long. It can't be the Krylon at this point. I've wiped her face with acetone at least half a dozen times now. It's a wonder she's still got a face she's had so much by way of chemicals on it. In the light of day I realized the one side of her mouth was slightly crooked again, and on top of that she wouldn't keep her wig on despite double stick tape. Her eyes were too buggy sans lashes. I could not get lashes on her, and honestly the paint job though better wasn't great so I said F- it and wiped her clean. She's air drying and then she's going back into her box for a while until I can afford a proper face up. I screwed her up, my fault, but this is one doll customization that's simply beyond my limited skills. If I could I think I'd buy and put another painted head on her at this point I am so sick of looking at her. But that's probably not possible given she's not an actual Asian BJD. I have no idea of what might fit her or not or even if her head works like any other BJD's. It's not her fault but I am totally hating on this doll right now...

It's been said before... but MSC will solve all your problems ;). Or can't you get it (online) from where you live? :(

That stuff is $14 a can plus shipping. It's not in the budget unfortunately. I don't care anymore. She can stay in the box. Or be a mannequin for a while. I can't afford $20 right now to buy some expensive spray to keep paint on her face. I'm not really convinced it would work. The other 10 doll that I redid the lips on and added a little glitter to? She's been holding her paint just fine. Same paint, same type of doll, anything but the same results. I think it's this doll. There's something wrong with her finish or something. I don't know, but right now, I'm totally sick of looking at her so she's going to be living in the box. It's either that or I'll end up going all Lizzie Borden on her annoying little face!
