For those who don't like DOA's normally strict rules, this may be the perfect time for a visit. they currently have one active forum that is all off-topic threads. There's even a place for posting pics of your off-topic dollies!
They say everything will be erased once they go live again, but it is a nice area. I kind of wish they would keep it. While I kind of understand their rules, it is nice to see a place where relaxing is allowed.

Hey Greyhaunt, I was curious... do you have to manually approve all the new accounts? A friend of mine from DoA is trying to join.

There's also a poll about off topic dolls and the DOA restrictions. While I voted to allow all dolls, that's just because I like dolls that have ball joints but aren't strung and I like doll sculpts that are outside of DOA's highly restrictive guidelines. I really do understand why they have to have such restrictions. If they opened it up to all ball jointed type dolls they would be overwhelmed with members and posts and threads within a very short period of time.

That's what DS is for though - those of us who like a variety of dolls .... I just hope we don't end up getting swamped any time soon!

Thanks for the heads-up on the poll! I don't want to see my Obitsu (Hazel!) made off topic!!

Passed the link to the poll to my DD friends.
it seems like a backwards move if Obitsu and the DDs go off-topic on DOA.

I may not like or want to own certain styles of dolls but that don't mean I can't admire the work that went into them.

As long as Delilah isn't allowed as an "on topic" BJD I'm not going there. :P

DDs and larger Obitsus yes, they are too close to the general ball joint "ness" and too deep in the doll culture.

And I'm starting to see some of the arguments against American dolls. I don't like the ones with little girl like faces either, they look like the face was taken from porcelain collectors dolls that are already out there and would stand out from the other dolls like a sore thumb.
