Short hair saran vs nylon

Postby Kukolka » Sun Nov 11, 2012 6:16 pm

Does saran hair work better than nylon hair for short straight styles or does it not really make a difference?
I'm planning to root a 27cm Obitsu head with straight hair and bangs. I prefer the colours available in nylon, but if saran is significantly better at being kept straight and neat I may go with that...

I've never noticed a big difference but the nylon has been smoother.

If you need a particular color, go with the one that has it. I prefer nylon for curls/waves and saran for straight when a color is available in both but if not, what can you do? XD;

Nylon holds its shape better, especially if short. Saran is soft and silky, but I only prefer it for long, straight hair.

If anything, check out the page on My Little Customs on the various types of hair and how they compare. Quite useful informatio. (It does go over saran and nylon, they're the first two on the comparisons.)

Thanks all. I read the descriptions on dollyhair.com before posting here, and from that it seemed saran is better at taming flyaways. I wondered if that meant nylon has bad flyaways, but from replies it seems not. The colour I want is only available in nylon so I'll wait for it to be in stock.

She made a Twitter message a bit ago that she was excited about the comming shipment, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long! What color are you after?

I've been checking daily, haha. I picture my Cleric's hair (left) as lighter than it is in game, so I'm thinking for her a blend of Arctic Frost and Hyacinth, similar to this wig: http://www.ebay.com/itm/35-Multicolor-B ... 53ec454a4b

And for her sister (centre), not sure yet whether to use the same with more of the Hyacinth, or use a darker blend of colours. Or maybe do her in saran Violet Iris; it looks like the most accurate match to the colour in game.
