Twinkies in their basic idea are a sponge cake with a vanilla cream filling, and lots of chemicals. Snake cake wise I prefer Little Debbie Zebra cakes.

I admit it, I went out and bought a box of cupcakes when they made the announcement. They may not be the greatest, but I'd miss them.

It was either Life After Man or Mythbusters that had an episode on what man-made foods would last the longest. And, yep, it's not a legend. Twinkies (snake cakes in general) will last for years. They said that they may taste a little stale, but they would still be fit for consumption.
