*glomps* Thanks everyone! As has been said, Mohini and Zenyatta are both staying with me for now. They will have to stay packed away most of the time while I am at my brother's because he has two younger kids, but having the option to take them out every so often will help a lot.

Fun fact, I found the name Mohini many years ago when I was researching names for a book I wanted to write. I don't know if I will ever write said book since the idea has kind of stalled out, but I did fall in love with the name. It's actually a girl's name! Here is a link to the wiki article about its origins: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohini

Mica, I really hope you love your boy when he arrives! Keep your eyes open. One of the boys I sent out on the same day as yours has already arrived--several days early!

Glad to here you will be with family soon, Dani! I wish and pray the best for you and hope you will indeed keep in touch with us as often as you can (there's always the local library).

Your Waltz is settling in and is already giving Mikah a fit (he keeps grabbing Mikah's foot and smirking innocently).

Thanks all!

Just a quick update--I'm at my brother's now just trying to relax a little and get my head around me. That and get rid of this cold that I picked up right before we left. X.x Things are going okay, though I feel a little overwhelmed with all the changes.

Mostly I'm worried about my cat since she hasn't started eating again yet and that means she's going on over 24 hours without food. She doesn't take to change well, so she's doing a lot of hiding in the few places that she can. I hope she will be okay.

Do anyone have any advice for comforting a cat like this? I've got some pillows and blankets for her that smell like the old place and I'm trying to let her have time to settle down, but I'm not sure if there is something else that I can be doing.

It doesn't help my brother has two small kids who are just super excited that there is a kitty in the house. I wish I could find away just to keep them away for a few days. I guess just saying no and keeping them out of the room as much as I can is the best bet. My brother and his wife are helping, but these are some insistent kids!

Does kitty have a shelf or tall piece of kitty furniture to go to? A nice safe perch to survey the new kingdom with?

As for the kids give them lessons on how to play properly with a cat. Get them to help with feeding, treats, and good things.

Apart from what you're doing already ... treats, maybe some catnip? My kitties were pretty upset and intimidated by the new place when we moved this summer, but they were fine after maybe a week. Also, being predators, cats can go a few days without food, so there's no need to worry just yet. A friend of mine is a vet, and she keeps saying "no animal will starve itself on purpose". Your kitty will come out when she's hungry enough, and probably when she feels nobody is looking. ;)
