tri•fect•a
[trahy-fek-tuh]
noun

2. any achievement involving three successful outcomes

"Ow, my head." Lee rubbed his noggin.

Image

"Sorry," Ryan said. "But that stuff wasn't being used so I boxed it up. I didn't throw it away so yo don't gotta get violent, brah."

Image

While Micah was chibified, the excuse Ryan gave for Micah's absence was that he spent the summer in Tokyo, Japan.
Abe stopped by for a visit. "Has he returned? I heard a rumor he'd been seen in the financial aid office."
"Yeah, he's over there but don't piss him off," Ryan said. "The guy's bein' all surly n' stuff."

Image

Introducing Abraham Nuer. Librarian from South Sudan.

Image

"Hey Abe," Micah said.
"I take it the summer wasn't what you'd hoped, hm? Your hair's grown a lot."
"Look who's talking." He offered a tiny smile. "Ryan says it's dorky."

Image

"And you listen to him why?" Abe plopped down onto the floor.

Image

Micah shrugged.

Image

Ryan groaned. "God save us, he has books. Boredom levels increasing.... nerdliness output too much to handle... "

Image

"We should hang out more often," Micah said. "You sure know how to have fun."
"Indeed we should," Abe said.

Image

"He said fun didn't he." Lee gave his brother a look. "Your roommate is a total weirdo. He acts like he actually LIKES school."

Image

Abe gave them both a book. "I didn't leave you two out," he said with a laugh.
"What's he trying to say about me," Lee asked. "Bro, yours is upside down."

Meanwhile....
(on a park bench on the other side of the living room)

Image

"Well, did you get it?" Gabe said. (on the left)

Image

"Yeah," Zo said. "Wasn't easy. The trace was cold. I'm thinking the bloodsucker might have moved on but I sensed other magics. Weird stuff, fairy dust and something I couldn't place. It was odd."
"What kind of odd?" Gabe asked. "We talking portal from Hell kind of odd or just your average necromancer screwing around on a weekend?"
"I don't know. A nasty-ass wet dog smell was interfering with my work." Zo gave the werewolf a pointed stare. "Take a bath once in a while, huh?"
Gabe chuckled and flicked Zo's pointy ear.

Image
Introducing Gabriel Vine. Part time motorcycle mechanic, werewolf.

Image
Introducing Alfonzo. Bartender, elf, and all-around pissy guy. Don't call him Legolas, he hates that.

Image

"We'll track it down like all the others," Gabe said. "By the book and Zo, no human kills this time? Boss ain't cleaning up your mess again."
"Whatever," he said.

Image

"Sorry I'm late," Abraham said.
Zo snickered. "You're always late."

Image

"You in?" Gabe asked.
The librarian nodded his head. "He wants to hang out more often. I didn't see any signs of a vampire inside but that doesn't mean one isn't in the apartment complex somewhere. The kid was upset about something, I'll find out soon enough if it's anything of consequence."
Zo furrowed his brow. "The building is clean. I already checked the attic and the grounds. The aura of magic and vampire activity all centers around THAT apartment. If there is one, he's there."

Image

"We track it, we kill it. Boss give any instructions?" Zo said.
Gabe pointed to the suitcase on the bench.

Image

"Fine. See you guys later," Zo said. "I gotta get to work."

Image

"If there is a vampire present," Zo said and curled his fist. "We'll hunt it down and destroy it."

To Be Continued.....

Dun dun dun.... maybe it's a cheesy Joss Whedon rip off but I love vampire hunters and librarians. So booyah. Abe looks so cute and out of place in his little librarian sweater. And that wig is hella huge, I think it still needs work.

I found them earlier this summer at a $1 table at a bookstore in the mall. I bought one of everything they had.
