I've known a few people that have lost their jobs and it actually ended up being the best thing that could've happened, so... if you look at it like that I'm sure things could work out.

oh lord, what don't I do? First off I'm a graphic artist with both print and web experience, although I'm out of touch with a lot of the modern multimedia stuff unfortunately. I've worked with data management in databases, recruited students, more stuff than I can even think of at the moment to be honest.

Moving out of state isn't really an option though, my parents are here and I need to stay around for them.

Last night one of the professors from the school called me to tell me how much he'll miss me and how shocked he and many other faculty members are over my being let go. It really made me feel good, although it also made me cry because now I don't know who will help them with all the things I did.

I don't know how those things work over there but maybe he could endorce you somehow? Maybe on linkedin or something. If they speak that highly of you that must count for something when your facing a new possition somewhere else, right?
