Euphoria's NEW new look (updated 12-4-12)

Postby Dirili » Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:25 pm

Some of you may remember my bitter disappointment about the Cristy Stone Siren head that I had ordered for Euphoria some time ago. I'm much happier with it now after doing some resculpting on it!

Here's what I did:
1. Got rid of weird nose slope, gave her a straighter more pointed nose
2. Sculpted in the sides of the nose. There was no detail there before. No undercutting on the sides of the nose at all. The edges were just plastered straight down onto the face.
3. Curved up the front of the nostrils which were also straight before.
4. softened the pointed chin.
5. Trimmed the earlobes which were really wide and thick before.
6. It's hard to tell, because the pic of the finished head is turned a bit, but the original lip between the top of the lips and the nose was puffier and I sanded that down a bit. Should have done more, but I don't want to have to repaint the whole thing.
7. Paint: the head was originally white, very bright white, so I had to blush it to match the body. Think it matches fairly well, but you can see the difference a lot better with the spotlight on for the pics -_-

So I think she's all finalized now and just needs some clothes! here's some shots:

Got tired of waiting for my Cristy Stone Siren head to arrive and I thought the Elfdoll Rita head that I got fit the Lovely Doll body fairly decently, so I blushed it up to match. It's slightly big for the body, but I think it works pretty well. Not so sure I picked the right color scheme for her though. She could use a bit of a smile too. May have to redo it all later. But here's her new look for now:

She looks very pretty! I just love the posing of that body as well. It looks so natural <3

Oh wauw! I thought you photoshopped the joints away or something (this post must scream newbee .. I never saw this kind of body before  )
But then again that didn't fit what I saw either so I googled the body and....I would have LOVED this some time ago!
How does this body hold its pose?

She is beautiful! I love her natural look.
The head might be a bit big but I think that her wig might cause it to look like that a bit too. Not sure as I am totally not familiar with this kind of doll so I don't know what her heat looks like without the wig. Maybe with a wig with a different style. One that does not have a bang that starts so high up her head, it might look even better?
This might give the impression her forhead is less high which might make her head come out less big.
Not sure if this all will work but well...thats my 2 cents :)
I like the blushing but your right about the smile. She looks like shes a bit bored now. Or not totally sure if she likes to be photograped in her undies :P

Thanks Evelien :D

Lif, she poses great! Well, sitting and reclining at least. Silicone is very heavy so they cannot stand at all unassisted. I have to prop her against something. Her internal skeleton is wonderful though and it's much easier to maneuver than a bjd's parts. The poses stay, there's no slouching or snapping back into positions as you're moving the doll around. I really loooove not having visible joints on a doll hehe

I'm STILL waiting on the Siren head, so I might end up switching them out when it gets here. Not totally sure if that one will be a closer match in size or not. We shall see!

Invisible joints, wow. xD I've never seen a doll like that one before...! That's fascinating!

Also, her face looks great. x3 Looks quite elegant.

Thanks! :D
yeah I love the no-joint look of the silicone dolls. They have a metal skeleton the silicone body is cast over it.

They are just so delicate though is the only problem... silicone can tear easily especially with age and if you leave it in a position where there is a crease too long, when you unbend it, it will crack. Plus silicone has a rubbery texture and it attracts dirt and dust like crazy which you can't just brush off. She has to be rinsed off and then I powder her to keep her a little less sticky.

I don't suspect I'd have the patience to take care of a doll like that. xD But it does look pretty natural. It's very cool!
