My mom went into the ER monday night with stomach and leg pain. She had to have sugary done on her stomach. She's still in intenive care today on a resporatory system and has yet to wake up. Please have her in your prayers and thoughts.

I truly hope your mother will have a swift recovery, and I hope that you'll feel better soon too Gift (emotionally). A mixed bouquet of carnations mean "Health & Energy" by the way, if you or any of your other family members want to give her some get-well flowers.

A postman brought two packages that were meant for me to the wrong address and once I rang the right neighbour's doorbell, he was shocked I'd found him because he ate all of the contents of one of the packages. It was a big box full of typical American food from my American friends. I know this is nothing compared to health problems of loved ones but I am FURIOUS.

The other package contained a vintage doll I had bought on eBay. He threw it away but he must have recovered it from the trash because he came by to bring it to me later.

The guts. This is pure stealing.

I'd have to look over the criminal codes to be absolutely certain (*cough* tried to, but couldn't bear to read any more after the 7th page), but I think he has two offenses there: 1. Invasion of personal privacy & 2. Theft.

It's unfortunate it had to happen to you Evelien. Like all the posts above mine have said, I would report him to the authorities and file a complaint to the post office.

Funny, I was typing up something pretty similar to takahirokumiko when I pressed "preview" to check for new posts first.

Have you tried contacting your local police yet Evelien?

I've tried solving it with him and the post office first but he ate a package worth $90 and he's not willing to pay that much money back.

Seriously? It's the least he can do. You need to contact the police.

I commend you for trying to solve it yourself first (he better realize how lucky he could've had it), but since it IS about a man that dared to rip open someone else's package and do with the contents as he pleased I really don't think you can negotiate with him.

It isn't fair that you had to be put through this. It is only fair that he pays the price for his actions.

He offered me money out of the blue yesterday, so I thought I could negotiate with him, but when I mentioned the $90 today he got really angry. He also doesn't like the fact that I'm calling him a thief. I honestly don't know a better word for what he is but he sees himself as a victim.

He WAS a victim of a postal mishap up to when he opened the package, there are plenty of people out there that will just automatically assume a package is for them if it comes to their doorstep. I wouldn't like it if my package was opened by someone else, but it is understandable.

He went from victim to thief the minute he ate the contents.

Don't try to negotiate with him any more Evelien, people can do some scary things if they're angry. Contact authorities. Also, the longer this is drawn out the more stressful it is for you. Maybe the authorities won't help as much as we think they will, but at the very least they will help end things quicker.
