Mirodoll 1/3 wind question

Postby mochi.kochi » Mon Jan 07, 2013 7:01 pm

Hey guys, I just bought myself a 1/3 girl wind from Mirodoll but then I checked the page over and over again, same with the head page, and I could not just find what the eyes and wig measurements are :(. I'm not planning on buying the stuff yet at the moment and I'm still doing my research. Like where and what strings to buy :|.

Any help would be appreciated ^,^

I'm not sure, but most 1/3 dolls have 8-9 heads and take 16mm eyes. Now, her eyes seem large so you may want 18mm but the average is 16mm.

There are some deviations from that---a good deal of mature men/boy 1/3 dolls use 14mm eyes; and there are a few 1/3 heads that can take 7-8 wigs.

But for the most part, you can't go wrong with 8-9 wig, 16-18mm eyes for a 1/3. (16mm if you want to see more 'white' and 18mm if you want more 'iris' showing.) I usually opt for 16mm myself.

Good luck!

Setsunakou about says it all for wig and eyes. As for strings - I presume you are talking about the internal elastic, and you shouldn't have to buy any at all. It's very rare that you need to replace the string inside a doll when you first get it - most of them come perfectly strung and maybe all you need to do is tighten them or loosen them to taste.

Aren't Mirodoll heads relatively small?

If I were you I wouldn't take the risk. I'd send them an email. I sent them an email with a question last week and they replied pretty fast :-)

Thank you guys !! Good to know that I can just loosen or tighten the strings they come with.

I'll probably try an 8 for the wig first aince the common size I see in your explanation, lol. For the eyes, I may go with the 16mm. And most likely bu rather cheap ones first just in case they don't really fit.

Hmm, thanks Evelien I will ask them, just to be definitely sure XD

Thanks again ~

I actually already own 2 Mirodoll heads and they're normal sized, not small.

So far, I've found that Dollmore has a bunch of small headed 1/3 and so does HZ. But at least they seem to be mainly that size for each of those companies.

What's so strange is that some Angelsdoll and Elfdoll heads are large and some are small!!! :faints: I learned that the hard way..... ^^:;

Mochi.kochi-san, as for the string, I think you WILL need to replace it right out of the box if you want Wind to be any kind of poser. My 1/3 Muscle Boy body had AWFUL string and he just kept collapsing until I replaced his elastic with the good kind from Junkyspot.
I don't know if it was just my one boy that had the problem but it was the worst string/elastic I ever had. It seemed less stretchy/strong than the kind you can get at Jo-Ann's! But maybe that was an isolated incident? I don't know, but when we receive our orders from this new GO, we'll find out if it's their typical elastic or if they've improved in a year.

Let us know how yours is when you get her!! ^^

I will~ I was just thinking while reading your reply where I could buy strings, Jo-Ann~ yey, I just went by JS and I think they're out of strings for 1/3 at the moment. Even so, the shipping fee *shudder*

Anyways, once I get her I can check the local craft store just in case they have any. Does the size of the string matter?

Monique sells the elastic, and Kiki-chan78 uses 3.5mm for her boy.

I emailed them and replied. I'll post it here for anyone who needs it

Wind's measurements are as below.
Her eye size is 18mm,
head wig size is 9"(her head circumference is22cm)
The string of her legs is 3.5mm, the arm string is 3.0mm.
Height: 60cm

Will it affect her if I have the same string sizes for her legs and arms?
