Jun Planning Fashion Dolls

Postby absynthe1972 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 9:14 pm

I was thinking of maybe getting a couple of these dolls come THIS Christmas.

I was wondering if anyone has one and what they think of them. I really do like the outfits on some of them and the faces are cute enough. Are they on the same body as the Pullip dolls?

I have two of them and personally, yes, I like them. I believe the bodies are the same or similar to Pullip ones, but since I don't strip mine i don't know. Mine have basically been "display not play" dolls - I bought them because I loved the outfit an all, not because I wanted to play with them :)

The heads are a hard resin, and the hair is a glued on wig.

If you like her, and can get her at a good price (I wouldn't pay full price for one, I don't like them THAT much), then I say go for it :) Don't expect obitsu quality posing though, you wont' get it.

Amazon seems to have a BUNCH of Pullips, Dals, and Taeyangs on sale right now for like 30%-35% off their original price.

Tinkerbell and Captain Hook Pullips are 75% off..... which would be great if anyone actually wants one of them..... I ain't buying that though.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

Thanks for all the comments! I was thinking that maybe $60 for a shelf doll wouldn't be too bad. I have the one Pullip. She's pretty fragile compared to my Obitsus. I took her out for the one photo shoot and that was it. Otherwise, she sits. I have a year to think about it, now that I know they're basically the same model as a Pullip (just with resin head).

Hhhhmmm...Could always get ONE and then transplant the head to an Obitsu body. I'll think about it. I've got awhile yet.

Are they vinyl like Obitsu and Barbie or ABS like Hujoo?

They're hard plastic, I suspect it's ABS.

Transplanting the head onto an Obitsu body will be a total pain in the butt. You'll need to actually break the head apart. It's not made to open easily.

Gah. Yuck. Yuck. and a Triple Yuck. I don't like the sound of breaking the head open. Shelf doll and maybe a few photo shoots.
