The color changed. Now that I think about it I'm not sure which series was which color.

Red was Classic Trek. In fact, I remember a line from a TV Guide article about Trek from that era, commenting on the short lifespan of Security ensigns in the first segment: (paraphrasing from dim memory) "And of course someone always gets in in the first segment, usually after Kirk says "You there, Ensign Expendable! Go see what's behind that rock." and they ALWAYS go. You would think for once they would read the ship's KIA logs and refuse!"

I watched ST:TOS in original broadcast. There, I said it! I'm an ancient dusty old relic! BTW, I HAVE an *original* IDIC pendant, gotten in 1968 from Lincoln Enterprises! When I got it the show was still in broadcast (final season).
