Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present...

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present...

Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Lowell Spencer Storm!

Image
Johnny's tux is a Ken outfit. Ri-ri's dress is hand crocheted by me.

Image
I think they make a beautiful couple, don't you?

Image
Looks like Johnny wants to start the honeymoon early. XD

Image
Yes, it's a pink tux. Deal with it. I had to.

Image
You gotta admit, he's a cutie.

Image
I was very proud of this dress. I tried several different patterns, but none of them were coming out right, so finally I just said "eff it" and starting looping. The tulle petticoat is actually attached to the dress to accommodate the long waist of the gown. It took me almost a week to make this thing, but I think the work was worth the result, don't you?

Image
The veil cap is also my own design. The bouquet is the only part of the whole outfit I actually used a pattern for.

Image
And now Johnny wrecks the solemn mood by sweeping his new bride off her feet. Not that she's complaining.

As a side note, right after I took this picture, Cherry dropped her bouquet, and it temporarily became a kitty toy. :B

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. It means a whole lot to me, especially since I'm not as practiced in crochet as I am in hand sewing. But I wanted something both special and traditional for Cherry's wedding gown, and my mother (God rest her) was an avid crocheter. There were doilies, gorgeous ones, on every surface in our house when I was growing up. She even put a doily on the dog. (She called it a sweater, but Daddy and I knew better.)

Originally Ri-ri's dress had no straps or sleeves, but I wanted the sleeves, and the straps and choker were necessary to hold up the bodice. Also, the long-waisted bodice sort of 86ed the concept of a separate underpetticoat, so the tulle petticoat is attached to the dress itself.

The cat who "caught" the bouquet, Mississippi, is one of our fixed stray rescues. He's a confirmed bachelor, so no kitty wedding, sorry. XD

I'm still planning on doing tutorials for the futons, but it requires a large setup area and sufficient lighting, and those two happy circumstances have not yet coincided. Stay tuned. ^.^
