Why, Doll Chateau? Why?!

Postby TieflingBoy » Tue Jan 29, 2013 9:35 pm

I was really fascinated by Alberta, but my practical side always said, "She's so awkward, you'd have no place to put her," or "She's so expensive," or "She's made of resin, and you don't know how to handle resin." But she's so awesome!

Then, while I was looking at Doll Chateau stuff on Denver Doll (just looking, since I like their aesthetic), I stumbled upon Ada. She's everything I thought was so interesting about Alberta except tiny! Why must you taunt me, Doll Chateau?

I would just like to mention that Alberta is actually not that large and she is really fun to play with in person. I have a friend who has one, and you should see how adorable she is sitting down!!

I just looked up owner's pictures. ;_; If I don't cave on Alberta or Ada, it's going to be Douglas. I have a sneaking suspicion that by summer, I'm going to end up with a Doll Chateau doll as my first resin.

My mother has an Ada, she's so adorable! Though I worry I'm going to break her teeny tiny scrawny legs.

I love Doll Chateau's awkwardness <3. Their MSD bodies are too slim for me though. I'd love a white skin Bella head for the Resinsoul body I still have lying around <3

I feel the same way. I've loved Alberta since I first saw her, but she's a little too strange to fit in my collection at that size. But I have tiny little Ada on layaway at MoC. I love my DC Collin so much. At first I was a little worried handling him because his ankles and arms seem so thin, but the resin is strong and he's pretty sturdy. Actually I think his resin is about as thick as my other MSD, just in a different shape.

They ARE super cute. When I first saw them I wasn't too big a fan but the unusual proportions grew on me. Now I love them plus they'd fit into Foster's fairy/magical world really well.

I think they are interesting and creative dolls but I just can't quite get into the body that looks so alien. That's just odd and disturbing to be on some level, but I definitely cannot fault that company for it's originality. Amazing dolls.
