My Wilder girls in new Valentine's Day Dresses

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

My Wilder girls in new Valentine's Day Dresses

Here's my latest work. All hand sewn, mostly just quilting cottons.

Joan's (left) dress came from a free pattern for a flapper-style dress I found somewhere I can't remember online. Instead of the fringe I added two rows of ruffles at the bottom and a lace ruffle on top of those, plus a lace collar. Gauntlets were a scrap of stretch lace and I used a Swarovski ruby heart crystal focal for her necklace. The belt is a leather bracelet.

For Rose's (right) dress, I used the bodice of Martha's Cute & Colorful dress, made a simple tube skirt and added the lace overlay. Lace trim was cut down and ruffled for her collar and the same lace as the overskirt to make the gauntlets. Her glass beaded necklace has a mangetic clasp for easy on and off as does Joan's.

I actually made another outfit for Rose of a bustier & A-line skirt, but it didn't suit her personality. Maybe I'll go put it up for sale.

Wow, those look great. I really like the red dress especially - the way you did the lace is just stunning. Seeing things like this makes me wish I knew how to sew. x) Both of your girls are beautiful!

They're both beautiful, but I'm a sucker for lace so the red one is more stiking for me. The other one is so sweet.

Thank you all! The red dress had me pretty much pulling my hair out, but I'm happy with the final result. I did the scalloped hem mostly because I was tired of sewing and didn't want to hem it. Happy accident it came out looking as well as it does.

I'm hard at work on St. Patrick's Day dresses now, from Martha's Cute & Colorful free pattern...with some modifications, of course.
