How much is this worth?

Postby mochi.kochi » Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:34 pm

Hey guys, I'm considering selling my sewing machine (not necessarily here because it's really heavy so shipping might be a problem) and use the money to buy a newer one. But I'm hesitating because I like the vintage feel. So, how much do you guys think it is for sale nowadays? Frankly, I bought it cheap at a ebay kinda thing in this country.

Elna Supermatic Sewing Machine 722010
With Manual and case/table
With the disks that you can use to make designed stitches
The lights work as well.
So far I don't think anything is broken or not functioning.

And a small case that I can't really describe where it slips >.< It slips in in that space in between the base on the table and the place where the bobbin sits.

I never got to use the disks because I can't make it work. I'm not that good with the machine because I just do basic stitches for everything I've done. I was actually against using machines when we had a sewing project at school because I never learned how properly so I chose to hand sew XD I only got this because I loved the vintage look and I knew it would make everything faster, plus it was cheap. Anyways, I just wanna know if it would be worth selling or if I would keep it as a collection :>

Thanks

That machine I usually see it around $100 if it works and if it has all it's parts. Sometimes a bit more. Depends upon what you have to go with. There's a case too...

Thank :> I looked at ebay listings and most of them were at 100-200 and some were 200+ something :)

That may be what people are ASKING. Since you can relist for free, you can ASK stupid prices for things and not be out a penny. You should look at histories to see what they are actually SELLING for.

I'm talking actual selling prices. Most of the time if you want to collect more than $100 for an Elna you need to know it works, and that means trying out those discs, and also have the case that came with. It does matter. That Elna case is cute and unusual and people will pay more for an Elna with it than without one. $65-100 though is not unusual for one that at least sews a straight seam. Elna's are good machines. But you'd likely get more if you run a few tests and have all the stuff that goes with.
