Everyone was either at school or work, leaving the fox sprite and vampire to fend for themselves.
"What sort of vampire are you? Foster says you don't have any special powers. He says you're a dud."
"Can you levitate?"
"Can you turn into a mist?"
"Can you turn into a bat?"
"Do you bite people?"
"Do you bite Micah? If you bite my Micah I'll turn you into a newt and you won't get better."
Ivan chuckled and assured Ina that he didn't hurt people, especially not his best friend.
"Tell me about your greatest military defeats." Ina giggled. "Foster didn't tell me to ask, I swear!"
"Can I braid your hair?"
Why do bushy-tailed girls insist on putting me in pink bows?
Ivan said, "Do you have any jewels with those bows?"
I can do all those things and more. But a proper vampire king never reveals his secrets, not to anyone. Not even his best friend.
