yeah... cept now there's video game fans, american comic fans, sci-fi fans, american cartoons at conventions too. even webcomic artists frequent them and they are by and large american. Homestuck, an american based webcomic was one of the largest fanbases at ohayocon and katsucon. so saying you don't like japanese fan culture is one thing, saying you won't go to conventions just because of that is another. its kind of like saying you hate a whole food group without actually going to see what its like. there's games, there's music, there's art, sometimes art shows of amazing stuff people do, talks by artists and musicians, you get industry people talking about how cartoons like friendship is magic is made, there's BJD meetups, there's people talking about how to make costumes and finer details of the craft you may have never heard of before.

Woah. Not sure where/if I'd wear these but they are AWESOME! I actually wish I knew more about Cons and Cosplay cuz I think it sounds like fun ^_^

As most peeps know I'm really into Lolita and Harajuku fashion, but I don't reserve it for Cons - I wear it day to day doesn't mean everyday, but everyone round here is just used to me in kooky clothes.
