This week's Dollieh Question from our list. (viewtopic.php?f=41&t=6677)

18. Craziest doll moment!

Dressing Rio's body with a sock sweater I made before he got a head. His nickname was The Headless Sock for some time.

Sorry for lateness again. Life was being life.

Wow, so many to choose from...

I'll have to say off the top of my head that it would have to be when my male roomie, Robert, found a pair of Cherry's panties...IN HIS ROOM...he came out with them held between his thumb and forefinger and shaking his head. His exact quote: "Cherry, what you and Johnny do isn't my business, but STAY OUT OF MY ROOM!" XD
"Dolls love to be played with. They are lonesome if you leave them always in a box. How would you like to be left day after day alone, with no one to love you?"

embyquinn, that's hilarious!

My craziest doll moment was also my first time seeing a BJD in person. I came home from school to find that my older sister had received her doll. I don't remember if the doll had a dress on yet, but she had a blonde wig and pale blue eyes. As she was showing me the doll, the doll's head suddenly spun around. We both laughed it off and joked about how much it would freak out our dad if the same thing happened when she showed him. That doll by the way, would later become Alwyn, my second BJD. :)

Before I moved back here I wasn't much of a doll collector. It all started while I was living somewhere else so when I came back home and I started playing with dolls here my family had a few interesting comments to make, particularly my Dad. My brothers they still don't know what to make of it all. I can tell from the looks on their faces when they come over that all the dolls around it just messes with their minds. My one brother I hadn't seen him in years and the first thing he said was "When in hell did you did you become a creepy doll collecting cat lady?" I just laughed. But he always harangues me about it now, suggests that I'm not likely to get a date anytime soon unless I ditch the dolls and make my affection for anything feline a little less apparent. As if that's even a priority me finding a guy who's not creeped out by dolls or cats....

Hmmm, oh I got one.

Just the other day I was at a doll meet that I'd arranged at a library. We were in a private room, but the doors were open. All the dolls were displayed on the tables and such, and someone had brought her new Withdoll boy. She didn't have him face-upped or had clothes on him yet, but she wanted to show us the new body.

Anyway, a little girl and her dad came into the room. They thought the dolls were part of the art display in the hallways outside and she wanted to look at them. So we say go ahead, and then I think, wait, there's a nekkid BOY doll on the table the kid's looking at! As I'm thinking it, the lady who owned it quickly slid in and snatched the boy up and moved him to another table. lol

I think the poor kid might've seen it, though. She didn't go any further. Her dad's like "Frozen?" She nods and then he laughs and they leave. I don't think HE noticed the doll, but that poor kid. It definitely wasn't a Barbie she was looking at.

Probably when I first got Haruka and I was showing her to my mom in a dress I found.

Me: 8D See it fits?

Mom: She looks pretty-

*legs fall off*

Mom: D8 Oh no-

Me: It's fine she's been doing that all night. :|

LMAO!!! "It's not big deal...I'd be worried if they weren't falling off..."

Hmmm...my craziest doll moment would have to be....being overcome with love/obsession for Freya, waiting up til 1am to order a White Freya that I couldn't afford and was so nervous to order because I had no experience with bjds/strung dolls/blank dolls w no faceup or eyes, being so estatic that I got one that I forgot to order eyes, poking around all the threads and realizing (mostly) everyone ordered two, thinking "Oh my Glob, I need two!!", realizing dark grey was limited release, waiting up until 1am again for the third and final batch and ordering a Dark Grey Freya that I really couldn't afford 0_o Omg did I feel nuts the whole time :P But in the end I LOVE them and my mom gave me the money for the Freya and when she came she was wisked off until Christmas.
Anxiously awaiting Tryniti and Acorn!

It was when Domuya still had a showroon in my country.

I was starting to be re-interested in the 1/6 playline and was thinking of customizing my own Chun Li out of a Volks doll that that they had in stock. So i was there looking at all the 1/6 stuff and not really paying attention to their 1/3 and young 1/6 kids line.

Since the volks dolls were at the bottom shelf and I was squatting. the moment I got up and turn around, there was a bloody Korean Dollmaster movie poster(the leads were bloody in the poster) serving as backdrop to two BJDs who were staring back at me(I think they were from the movie or something). I almost freaked out
(Irony being that Dollmaster was creepy and sad when i eventually watch it)

Didn't really buy anything that day and was a little wary of BJDss. By the time I work up the courage to go back, the showroom was already closed and was packing up its stuff for Hong Kong

The irony of it all is that it took me 4 and half years to work my way up to 50cm vinyl Obitsu-Parabox. And 6 and half years later, I have a 70cm male bjd sitting on my table like nobody's business. And I can't even take my two large dolls to Domuya to "seek revenge" now that the Hong Kong shop is gone.

That's a toss up. Craziest moment for me was probably the night of my first doll meet aka the night Taavi came home. I just wanted to see how the dolls worked in person and then an incredibly amazing local woman lent me her DZ Chen that she was thinking about selling so that I wouldn't rush out and get a doll I might regret. Of course I ended up buying him but that first night being driven back to my friends house with this giant and tightly strung 70cm boy in my lap was certaintly something I won't forget.

The actual craziest moment was probably in Prague when I was helping out with this parade the US's national day at the theater convention we were at. My mother in law who was in charge of the exhibit loved my dolls and insisted(if I was okay with it) that we tied Hujoo Ella to my shoulder as part of my costume so she could take part in the festivities.
