Not really. What we call "vinyl" is actually PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, or ABS, is rigid, light, asnd durable. PVC vinyl takes detailing better, and of course PUR (polyurethane resin) is the alleged gold standard for making dolls. They're all plastics, but that's about where the similarities end. I believe PVC vinyl is more closely related to polyurethane resin than is ABS, but I'm no chemist so I can't be certain.
