speaking of costumes, I managed to get a cosplay tunic with long tails and a hood with a long tail cut out of a yard and a half of knitted fabric!

*sigh* After 15 years of looking for ONE book, I finally found it. (We have over 1000 books in our house in various places.) Isaac Asimov's The Winds of Change...And Other Stories. It has my favorite story, All About Nothing. It's not even one full page but it is certainly a groaner. I love puns. I also found The Callahan Chronicles by Spider Robinson. I've been looking for that book for at least a decade.

Two bad things I discovered after the shelf of books FELL on me. One is that the boys had stuck some LPs on the shelf below it and the upper shelf had collapsed on the albums. They were the only things holding up the upper shelf. The second is that almost ALL of our Heinlein books need to be replaced. That's going to be a job and half replacing those. *cries*

Can you replace them with ebooks? I used to have more books than I could count, then someone who doesn't like to read thought a leaky tent in the back yard was a good place to store a lot of them... The only books from my childhood that survived, and were so precious to the hoarder in the house, were the ones I sat down and scanned. It's also helped with the stacks of craft pamphlets grandma saved, I still have the info without the grandma smell. I was even able to turn a profit on some Japanese doll books I no longer needed physical copies of.

you can prolly get alot of the older sci-fi novels for free now as an e-book. I got a bunch of andre norton novels like that, and you can get some of the bill the galactic hero books for 99 cents too

We could but e-readers (including Kindles, Nooks, iPods, iPads) give me a migraine. I can't handle the light...and my husband and I are both troglodytes. We much prefer books. It would just be easier to replace that entertainment center. It's crappy pressboard and laminate anyway...not to mention it's well over 10 years old now (which is why it's in the basement) and not very sturdy. Once we get that replaced, I'll start in with replacing the books that need replacing. I know some of the ones my husband has are out of print. I know you can get a lot of them free online, but we both prefer paper, even with my allergies.

Get 'em free on line and print them out and bind them at home with your own covers if you can't find them otherwise? Or let a print on demand place do the printing of a private book.

Why is it you have to replace them?

Good, though hugely stressful news: I was asked by Northern Illinois to visit their campus. I potentially have a full ride for grad school there.. so it's awesome. Buuuttt.. I have a show I draped opening the week after so I have to have absolutely every little thing done before I go.. so it's going to be a bit crazy for me this week and the next..
At Home: Lettice (RS Rong), Avery (PD Tara), Sebastian (RS Wu), Titiana (RS Li), Patrick (RS Mai), Vivica (DDoll Airi), Brody (DZ Hid), Fyodor (DDoll Hiro), Landon (WD HOE Juwel), Khoshekh (Oleum's Dolls)

I meant are the pages loose? Did they get wet? Just curious as I've been on HTF searches.
