I just put in an order for this boy to be Cordie's Kitty boy. 6-8 weeks will be so long.

I made my second payment last week and should be able to pay him off next month. I already have pants, boots and eyes for him in his own little trunk. His ears are on order.

Since I've currently got the cash - I've decided to pay off the final layaway part for Havelock's body this week... That way there isn't cash floating around to temp me wrt Soom's latest releases... And it's a weight off my mind wrt owing Jeeryma the final payment!

OBTS Delilah is due here anytime now and I've been informed that she has a sister coming but not for a little bit yet as she's been put on lay-a-way. A doll pal of mine is returning a favor. I gave her a couple of Tonner superhero outfits for her MSD dolls last month. She's majorly into comics and cosplay and wanted the doll outfits for her BJD's to wear to events. She didn't really want the actual dolls because she's only into BJD's but she was very interested in the outfits when I told her I didn't want them. She then turned around and put a Delilah on lay-a-way for me.

She could not have picked her better actually. The rest of the Delilah dolls I don't have I can pretty much take or leave, except for this one. I kind of covet the outfit to Lady Onyx and the Blue Gloomth outfit but the Red Velvet doll is one I actively like and wouldn't mind having. I like her face. I think it's the combo of pale skin, the red lips and the mega eyeliner. She looks very geisha-ish to me for some reason. I think her outfit is awesome but I am worried a bit about staining with that one. I'm really hoping all that red is really lined well.

A lot of people say they don't see anything about Delilah that isn't strictly Caucasian and her stated character does not mention anything about her being so but I just don't quite agree with the idea that she's not. I think with the paint off her sculpt does have a vaguely Eurasian look and I think they did that intentionally to make her look at least a little bit like an Asian BJD. You can see it with the mannequins. She doesn't look full on Asian. She looks like she could be at least part though and I think that is particularly evident with this doll.

I've seen her done up as a Geisha and as a Mandarin Chinese girl and her sculpt totally works for that and it's not just a matter of being painted that way. To me she looks rather like a young Asian girl who's had eye fold surgery and who is going for that doll like look some of seem to think is preferable these days. Usually I think that's kind of sad when it comes to humans. (I sort of feel the same way about huge breast implants. I can get why someone might want smaller ones, but seeing women with huge ones always make me sigh and think WHY? Not being small myself, I wear a 42D or DD depending upon the bra, and having always felt a bit awkward because of it I just can't imagine anyone deliberately choosing to be a DD or larger.) It works fine for Delilah though since she IS a doll.

At some point I am going to grab those 2 outfits used or on sale, but then I will likely call it a day. I thought 5 Delilah's was plenty, but now it looks like six is the magic number? They just keep showing up, laugh. My roommate and her GF think I should just go for it and buy the rest of them if I can. But even if I had the $$$ to do that, which I don't, even with the dolls all being deeply discounted I can't really afford to buy them all, I just wouldn't go there I don't think.

I would not even have most of these if it wasn't for the fact that they mostly came as gifts. If more were to come my way via the holidays or my birthday or whatever that would be fine. I'm obviously smitten with Delilah Noir and I'm not a fool. I'm not about to turn down any Delilah that I don't have to pay for, but even on clearance she's too expensive a doll for me to be laying out paycheck $$$ on. Not to mention that one of those Delilah's the one in the plaid and the top hat is extremely limited and I'm not likely to run into it at a price I could ever afford anyway.

Let's see...

There's Steampunk, two mannequins, Lady Onyx, Top Hat. I think that's it. Five more dolls and a couple of outfits, plus the shoe and accessories pack and that's the whole Delilah collection. I've got more than half the dolls out there now. No, I don't think I would. I have no ambitions as to getting and painting mannequins. Doing one totally OOAK Delilah was enough frustration for me. I'm still thinking I might add to D&D but she's not going to be a complete redo, no way. Steampunk is just debut Delilah with a red wig and a bronze outfit. Nothing special. I like the wig and the boots but the outfit doesn't do much for me. Lady Onyx is kind of cool, I wouldn't mind having her, but I wouldn't go out and buy her I don't think. Just the outfit, unless I found her dirt cheap someday. Top Hat? She goes for a pretty penny that girl, uhuh, not with my budget and other than the outfit she's nothing special either really. Standard face up, shrug.

I think I have the best of the whole collection actually. Gray skin or not D&D is pretty unique. I've got the standard face with CA/D Delilah, I've got an OOAK made from PIP, I've got OBTS with her bat dress and her pop in fangs and all, I've got a bubble gum Diva with the 10 Delilah, and now I have a pale Geisha girl in RV. There are no repeats in terms of faces in my collection. All the face paint is pretty different. I think I've got a pretty nice spectrum in so far as all of Delilah's various looks are concerned. They make a really nice display on the shelf and I'll love playing with them all. They each have such different personalities it will be fun to make other outfits for them.

I still cannot believe that in one year, less than, I've gone from no BJD's to having SIX, albeit they're all vinyl and one is not physically in hand. What's more amazing is there's been no huge dent in the budget to get me here. It wasn't too long ago that I was just sitting here thinking over the idea of having one Delilah and trying to figure out how I could afford to get me one and now they have a whole shelf...

Wow! Dikadoll are quick! Jeeryama just let me know that Havelock's body already arrived at the shop/warehouse! Quite glad I resisted the temptations that Soom offers to finish paying him off early - though with my doll stuff currently spread out in 3 different cities it'll be a while before he's all put together...

Edit: That and I'll have to temporarily raid Drax's wardrobe for clothes... Neither Drax nor His Lordship will be happy about this arrangement...

Yay, I'm finally getting a new doll! Just ordered a Kid Delf Yuz and on the prowl for a Yo-SD boy as well. Gotta get crackin' on some boy clothes and find a wig/eyes so he's not woefully nekkid when he gets here. And another room...so much to do.
