I was at the park today at lunch. There isn't a lot blooming, sadly, but I did find a few blooms :

I wish I knew what sort of tree this is. It smells wonderful!

Aw, looks like spring, absynthe1972! Great pictures.

Even if there wasn't many, it's still nice to see. I haven't seen a single bloom yet, but the buds are looking promising and the ducks are certainly moseying about. I had to stop for some this morning.

There were a couple of wood ducks but they were really camera shy. My rosebushes are sprouting and it looks like my lilac bush will bloom shortly. :) YAY for spring! I'm glad you like the photos. If the wind ever dies down, I'll take the girls out. 25mph gusts and the dolls don't get along.

Oh wow, I am just blown away by everyone's work-- so many different media! I hope everyone is super proud, because it's all really gorgeous and interesting.

I recently started taking classes at the local arts center, and... I photographed some sketches that I made (the old scanner will not talk to my laptop).

Image
(no title, done in colored pencil. Been trying to refine a 'cartoon' style and drawing the TF2 guys is good practice for that. Any tips are welcome, but it's such a little margin sketch thing that I don't know if it's really critique-worthy the way the start of a large piece would be...)

Never do anything with the the thoughts about being critique worthy, do them because they are worth doing. Do you feel that you did your best and are you happy with the results? Then you've done a good job.

I can't draw worth a lick. I just sit back and enjoy looking at the works of others who CAN draw. I like your cartoon fellows. Their expressions...I don't know why but they amuse me in a good way. Makes me wonder what they're thinking.

*jaw drops* *applauds* I LOVE this one! It does help that I'm reading my third book about the black plague in the Middle Ages, too. VERY appropriate!

Thanks, absynthe1972! I really like drawing bones.... I know that's a little weird, but I think it looks really fun. It kinda reminded me of black plague in the Middle Ages too... Not so much my drawing as a few of the others' in class, but I still dig it.
Also, excited for your springtime dolly pictures should the wind die down!

Thanks, IzabethS. I took it for fun since it's my last semester in undergrad. I really enjoyed it.
