Take this piece for example.
I love the picture. Oh, i love the loneliness she is conveying, cradling her body with her upper arms, eyes pointed downward, and with her village in the not too far off distance. I get the sense that she wants to be by herself and think. The emotion, the feeling, the mood is there.
What about the art? I couldn't draw it. I probably could color it, but not the same way you would. I like the blue's of the village. As villages go, it makes the village seem peaceful. She has a lot of hair. Its bunched together, so it would make it heavier. The picture suggests that the wind is blowing her hair off to the side, but is there wind? Her earrings are stationary. What else is there in the picture to tell me the wind is blowing?
Do you like the way she is drawn? I love the way she is drawn. But is her nose finished? That is what I mean by me knit picking. It does no real good to sit there and say this or that, its how the picture makes you feel. It is about what makes the picture appealing or unappealing to the viewer. I wish I could have this painting (Is it a painting?). I would hang it over my lamp so i could see it when I go to brighten up a room.
Maybe my thoughts are unhelpful to you, but it makes sense to me. I hope you find my thoughts helpful.
