Image
A set of English-to-Japanese and J-to-E dictionary.
and I have other "how-to" books to read an English sentence.
(but it is not useful... there are used to pass the test in the school in Japan. :()
Now I use 3 translation website (and 2 dics) to read all articles and mails.

BTW, What do you use to read the Japanese language (in website, forum, and others)?

* staff? stuff?

Your staff is doing a good job. I understand what you are saying.

I use Yahoo Babel fish and nifty to translate short sentences from Japanese to English. Its not good for translating an entire website though, certain things is lost in translation :( Which is why I am learning Japanese :D

Staff = People working for you

Stuff = items

:) You do a great job! I would not be able to learn Japanese.

My sister is fluent in Japanese so I ask her, if I find a kanji I'm unfamiliar with.

For myself, I know some and can read it fairly well, but really complex and obscure kanji, I refer to [my sister] but if she's unavailable, then I use this:

http://www.edrdg.org/cgi-bin/wwwjdic/wwwjdic?1C

It's mainly for single words/kanji lookup (like a dictionary) and not sentences nor phrases, but that's pretty much only what I need anyway, so it works well for me. :D

I use Yahoo Babel fish myself. However if it's something in Korean I ask my Korean friend to translate. :D

I've never attempted to translate anything. But I'd like to learn Japanese, if I wouldn't be absolutely horrible at it. Just so when my coworkers start babbling in Spanish, I can start babbling back at them in Japanese and then go, "See? How does it feel to have no idea what I'm saying?" XP

Seriously, I'd love to learn it and then join a program to move to Japan for a year or two to teach English to school kids. I know no less than three people who have done that, and it was such a fantastic experience for them. I think I'd really enjoy doing something like that, too (so long as there wasn't that pesky language barrier getting in the way).

what is really fun is knowing spanish and when others "babble" spanish at you, and you just speak back at them when they are not as smart as they think...

Thank you all reply :)

I set some link to translation service in top page of my website.
http://www4.famille.ne.jp/~yah/
(Please check lowest paragraph in that page.)

However, I use other translator to myself. Unfortunately, their guidance is in Japanese only. :(
http://www.excite.co.jp/world/
(I think this site makes better average.)
http://www.ocn.ne.jp/translation/
(I think this site is better to single-sentence level translation, and it accept "common" (?) grammar.)
http://translation.infoseek.co.jp/
(I use this site mainly. It is better for paragraph-level translation. but this site is particular about a grammar of source text.)

to Dark Angel:
Thank you for teaching a word usage. :)

to SetsunaKou:
I don't think so because I understand your Japanese. :D

BTW, In 20 years ago, the first reason that I wanted an English literacy is read an manuals and messages of the import games. :)
(Panzer Leader, Squad Leader, The search of the Nile, Ambush!, ... They were sold with Japanese language manual, but it is only a digest.
In PC soft, Ultima 3, Jagged alliance, Das Schwarze Auge (the realm of arcania), Albion, Star craft, Homeworld,....
They ware sold without Japanese language manual.
haha, that is old memories. :))

I use babble fish, but I dont use sites that aren't written in English very often. Most of the sites are doll sites! :) I wish I had the time and resourses to take a Japanese language class because I love anime and manga.
