Our kitties started going through liver failure last month and after a long struggle we decided it was best to put them to sleep. We just brought their ashes home and it was hard. I miss them, and every time I think I'm healing I find something that throws me out of balance again. Kitty hairs on...well everything, a whisker in the carpet this morning, Kyo's indent on his favorite snuggle spot. I keep doing things as if they were still here, like shutting the doors when we leave or picking up my pieces of string so Yuki won't eat them, but then I realize they're never going to pee in the closet or eat an entire spool of my embroidery floss ever again.

Our son just turned four and it's the only death he's experienced, so he doesn't understand and keeps asking when they'll be better and come home. We're having a hard time explaining to him that the kitties are gone.

You are most welcome. Feel free to message me anytime. Hell, I'll give you my cell number and we can chat or text if you're feeling down. :) I know how it is being away from friends and family. That's one of the main reasons we moved back to NJ. Both my and my husband's families are here as well as a group of friends. We really don't see them (friends not family) that much - but it's nice knowing we have the option.

Certainly there are foods that just make you happy - but there is also the case where the foods cause the release of chemicals as well. I mean hell... I wish they sold jelly beans all year round. :D But I only REALLY like the "Just Born" kind. Anyway, I'll not lecture you on the dangers of comfort food and eating disorders and etc. I'm sure you know. ;)

I have to say it's kind of nice to see so much commonality, not just in the hobby we all share - but what we have been through. Not that I would wish depression or any other disorder on anyone - but it's nice to knwo you're not alone even amidst your fellow hobbyists. I'm still waking up, so I hope that made sense.

I absolutely will not let this kill my creativty. If it starts to happen, I discuss with the Dr how to get off of it (if I do not decide to do that sooner). I'll seek alternatives - whether that be trying some other medication or looking for something more holistic. I'm not saying I am goind to deny treatment - but I am not going to turn into some uncreative zombie either.

ON another sucky note... The new place we're at doesn't have the basement option I used to have. So no more being able to spray inside. :( Ugghhhh. Now I am the mercy of the weather when trying to do face ups and it's been humid as hell for I don't even know how long. Hmm -- maybe today I will see if there is anything to be done along the lines of sealing off the studio for spraying. >_>

that's awesome! so its probably not just a placebo effect with me then. lol

i also worry that taking something may kill y creativity. It's good to know you wouldn't let it happen to you!

thank you for all the info <3

Get a new kitty. Go to the used kitty store, a place with adoptions, and let your son pick out a new kitty. After loosing Blarney our doctor said to get another puppy and she was right. We still miss Blarney but having Velvet has made it easier to go on.

Had to go to the hospital yesterday for intense pain in my side and stomach. Found out I have my first kidney stone at 26. Worse pain I have ever went through, and I have to miss work for the next 2 days. Pain medicine is helping tons though.

I have small kidney stones and i'm only 20, my doctor said if i eat better and exercise they'll get smaller instead of bigger.

I've had to go to emerg twice because of them already but all they did was give me some pain medication in a needle and send me home because they're to small for a surgery to be worth it. I hope they never get so big i need them out.

I imagine it hurts more to get them out but I'm with you on the kidney stone pain x_x;

I really wish we could, I even had a dream that Kyo and Yuki brought a black kitten to me, but we're going to be moving to no-pet student housing next year. My mom was going to take Kyo and Yuki for us when we moved, but then they got sick.

Over at a friend's house, and just had to listen to almost an hour of her boyfriend's ranting about politics and religion. Both of which I said I will not discuss with him. I'm pagan and a democrat. He's a devout Mormon, and republican. But he took my silence as invitation to spew his opinions unchecked. I can handle him going on about Obama being the Anti-Christ. I can even keep my council when he goes on about Illuminati conspiracy. But when he started in about women and that whole "legitimate rape" issue that's been in the news lately, I had to leave. I told my fiance to call me when he wanted me to pick him up, and left. I can't listen to a strapping, six-foot-something white male discuss something, that in all reality, he will very likely never have to fear, or experience, and minimize it as though it's nothing that should be of concern.
