I only have one BJD that I bought on a complete whim and didn't have a backstory for at least (other than my Tonners who just stand and look pretty). All of my dolls come from preconceived characters.

I wish I had the room for boxes and beds! Only my husband would probably find that a bit much. LOL

I'm bad and in the throes of waiting I end up buying Monster High, Tonners and other dollieh related things. Whew. Felt good to admit that.

I would totally do the same thing, except I have no money because it all went to my BJD. Lol! When the new Freaky Fusion dolls come out, though, all bets are off!!!!

What an interesting topic!! Everyone sounds so....freaking patient. I'm one of those "crawl up the walls" people. It doesn't help that I'm a chronic pain patient (I should just put that in my darn signature or stamp it on my forehead, but it really does effect my life to the point that it needs mentioned every other darn post I feel like I make) so I don't have much to do to keep me "occupied" (I mostly read and surf the net, but net-surfing can lead to a) Look At That Other New Shiny Thing I Now Want or b)That Shiny New Thing I'm Waiting For Is Being Shoved In My Face Constantly). I have a pre-order for an action figure (not technically a doll but I'm just as excited and SOOO planning on making a doll buddy for him!) and some customs in with Setsunakou. So my time is mostly spent telling myself I'm not going to make a large company make their dolls any faster and reminding myself that Setsuna mentioned it could be up to a six month waiting period for the customs and bugging about it won't get it done any faster. *Scratches nails on chalkboard* Am I the only one who goes absolutely nuts waiting for stuff!?

You should've seen me when I was waiting for Veronica (My Ai Doll Leucocoryne) I was checking the mail every hour excluding Sunday until yesterday when I finally got her.

I'm not very patient. The only blessing I have is school work that keeps me attention somewhat. But if you talk to my boyfriend he will tell you how I mention my new BJD at least once a conversation, if not more. And while I know there isn't anything I can do about her being shipped any faster, I think "Oh, but I can buy stuff for her!" and I literally check eBay every two seconds to look at new stuff or stuff I am watching. It's all I can to keep myself from spending money just to keep myself preoccupied. One thing is for sure, waiting for my BJD is not helping my online shopping addiction.

I started this topic because I ran out of ways to keep myself distracted.

Alopecia no Hime  YES! More psychotics like me! I am one of those people that go...pardon the french, but BATSHIT CRAZY when I'm waiting for something. And if something is taking longer than the projected deadline I immediately go into Breakdown Mode like "OH GOD *SOBSOB* IT GOT LOST IN THE MAIL OR CRUSHED BY AN ELEPHANT I'M NEVER RECEIVING MY ITEM!!" <---Obviously this syndrome is really bad if it's an item without a tracking number or if the person doing a custom outfit/whatever isn't easy to reach. Right now I've got the itchies because in one case it's Bandai and they don't give a flying banana that it's not easy waiting another couple months for their product, and in the other case Setsunakou warned me of their "could be six months" deadline and I paid off everything by...mid December I think, so there's obviously not going to be any movement on that front! But....ARGH I HATE WAITING.

SymphonicEnkelli Well, if you read above you'll see I'm obviously "not very patient--bordering on psychotic" when I need to wait for things. For some reason waiting for stuff makes my wallet seem to just fly open too. It's like my brain is reminding me of all the new shiny things I want---but conveniently forgot about until I had something "waiting in the wings" as it were. I also have an online shopping addiction, and I think I accidentally passed that disease on to my mother too (at first she was all "Booo horrible internet" but around Christmas time she went hogwild and decided the internet was the most awesome shopping mall EVER). I'm definitely a bird stuck in a woman's body, because I have that "SHINY THINGS!" problem. I'm reminded of when I went to the pet store (can't own a bird sadly because our house temperature fluctuates too much, damn brick exterior) and all of the birds in the glassed-in display cage were following my hand around the glass barrier because I had worn a gemstone ring, and it was like watching a hundred little miniature faces with "oooooh shiny" syndrome. The bird I asked to see (I have to play with them even if I can't keep em) tried to steal it. He kept trying to peck the crystal out of the setting. That's basically me, except I'm pecking at the keyboard and on a tight budget, so this Polly almost never gets her cracker.

I just bought a JDF body from a friend for the incoming Luts Winter head and I'm so excited! I'm definitely in search mode this time for clothing (they are a bit smaller than typical SDs), wigs, eyes ... everything for my new boy!

My boyfriend just became the best boyfriend! I keep sending him links to all the stuff I want to buy for my BJD, but I can't really afford any of it at the moment, and he bought me the wig I really wanted. So, I'm uber happy! It doesn't help the wait too much, but it's fun getting to wait for something that will actually arrive this month instead of arriving in August.

I didn't wait... I cheated ;)

Well not quite but......

After many hours (years even as I've been looking since 2009!) looking at various dolls and pondering my options a chance look at a well known auction site saw me find a doll that I instantly fell in love with. Unknown to me at the time she was also for sale in a couple of other places and had been for a few weeks so I like to think that she was waiting for me to give her a new home :P

I think that a three or four month wait would have been a nightmare for me especially if I was not happy with the doll when it finally arrived

However I now have the fun part and can spend looking at things to buy for her and choosing the next doll (if there is to be a next doll) can be a leisurely process.

If I'd have had to wait then I'd have probably had a go at making some basic clothes using measurements available online for my chosen doll in anticipation that by the time she arrived I'd either be pretty good at sewing or know that I'd be buying clothes because I couldn't make them
