You know Bones is based on the life of Kathy Reichs, right? She created Temperance Brennan, who is based heavily off of herself. She produces the show, too. So I'm sure she's got quite a bit of say as to what goes on in it.

Dr. Kathy Reichs is the woman behind Temperance Brennan both onscreen and in print. A member of a rare field of forensic anthropologists, board certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology, Reichs works for the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the state of North Carolina and for the Laboratoire des Sciences Judiciaires et de Medecine Legale for the province of Quebec. She is also Professor of Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. But she has become best known for her series of books about fictional forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennnan. And that success has led to a television series being made that is inspired by her life and her books.

*snip*

It was those books, and a documentary that was produced which explained exactly what it is that Dr. Kathy Reichs does for a living, that caught executive producer Barry Josephson’s eye and ultimately led to the creation of Bones. Rather than just taking Reichs’ books and putting them on television, the producers decided to focus on her real life work for their inspiration, whilst adding a sprinkling of her fictional character, Temperance Brennan, into the mix. “She is a forensic anthropologist by day, and that’s based on my character in my book,” explains Reichs. “But in her off time, she writes novels – and that’s based on me.” Furthermore, just to add to the complex twisting of fiction and reality, the name of the character in TV Brennan’s novels? Dr. Kathy Reichs.

I find that really interesting. As for Bones, I personally like her character. I think she is learning to compromise her beliefs and such, especially now that she's finally together with Booth. I think her nature makes her attempts at being "normal" that much more humorous. Like the way she always has to explain why something is funny.

Interesting Stormlight. I love bones and was originally going to say something but couldn't come up with anything better than. "I don't think she's a bitch, I think she just put up a huge defense wall of logic around herself and has become socially maladjusted because of it." ._.'

yeah, I remember when she was on a couple talk shows when her first book came out and she didn't talk like a robot.I even read the first few because I wanted to be a forensic anthopologist, and that temprence brenen was a recovered alcoholic with an exhusband and a daughter. not a sociopathic robot.

I find myself drawn to shows and/or stories about groups. I like shows with a lot of regular characters. That's what I like so much about Bones. I don't care so much about all the murder mystery stuff as I do the fun characters. The same characters could work in a department store, tech department, or a zoo and their humor and drama would all still be equally entertaining to me. I particularly like the King of the Lab. Hodgins is hilarious. I really like all the squinterns, too. I don't think any show is ever like the books though. Maybe that's a good thing? I sort of see it this way: the book is the real deal and the TV show is sort of like fan fiction. They switch some stuff around so it's close but books are ALWAYS better.

Going in for my driving test tomorrow... I'm kinda nervous because even though I have driven a lot recently there are still times when my mom cringes or tenses up when I'm driving. But she's always been a skittish type so I guess I shouldn't let it bother me too much.

My brother and sister-in-law came and visited over the weekend! My brother even took me to see Pacific Rim in IMAX 3D. It was mind blowing.
I'm mostly on Tumblr now.
