Did some crafty work

Postby poetrae » Sun Sep 22, 2013 4:13 pm

Today I tackled making a bed, blanket & some pillows -- Only tackled 1 pillow because I'm trying to decided how I want them.
Anyways -- I had a bunch of scrap bits of fabrics that were some good sizes. I found an old 15in x 7in picture frame that the glassed had broken -- and just used that for the base of the bed. Also no one plays the Jenga we have, so I'm going to glue 4 of the pieces on the bottom for some legs once I find my glue gun.
So the bed is 15ins long which isn't that bad seeing as Cricket is msd sized, i think her accurate height is 43.5 cm [doll leaves dora].
Onto the few pictures I did take of it, natural light is slim right now.

The blanket is reversible which is nice -- i think it might be too much polka dots going on but I still like it. haha.

Well at least so far Cricket will have a bed. Time to tackle clothes .. without a doll to make sure they fit :P

I think the polka-dots are cute!

So do I -- it was better than the plain white fabric that I bought last night that I thought I was going to use in the first place. C:

Haha -- I have some stripes fabric but it is neon green & neon blue -- figured it wouldn't look so nice with the neutral pallet of the blanket :(

I'm already planning a 2nd doll -- I just might go for neons with her, who knows ;)

Thank you :D

Its the first time I had sewn in about 2 years :/ My sewing machine can be very persnickety at times. It was given to me back in 06' by one of my mom's friends -- so its quite old [ I wanna say late 80's] -- I do love it .. but most of time I just wanna throw it out my window :(

Now I'm off to make things for my incoming Nano Freya .. so most likely more craft posts from me this coming week :D

Very nice! I like the fabric.
Do you have any idea what that will do to my complexion? People will mistake me for a planetarium!
