My first faceup! I just finished today. I like it except for the eyebrows/lashes that look like they were drawn on with pencil >.< it's not a (regular) pencil, really, it's a black watercolor pencil... Anyways, she will probably wear it for a couple weeks so I can spend my time making clothes and hairs and then go back to faceups later...

Actually, your faceup looks pretty good, especially for a first timer, and the eyebrows look great to me!!

I have been in this hobby for 10+ years not but only recently, I was able to get off of my lazy butt and start doing face-ups myself.

dxlastic, what brush do you use? And how do artists like you get that fabulous sheen and those divine little lines!?

I still haven't done any human faceups at all (no time!) but I had to do a bunch of fox faceups for my kickstater. Given that I'd never done any at all before I started doing foxes, I think I did all right. Mostly pastels, but a couple of them I had to use some watercolor paints, and they all have a little watercolor pencil as well.

I actually use a few different brushes depending on how I feel (or if I cleaned brushes or not...since I wash all of them at once)
My favorite brush is Zoukeimura face painting brush #7. In fact all the face-ups I posted above are done with this brush.
But they are quite expensive so I ordered som army brushes about a week ago to give them a try since they're 1/2 of the cost of Zoukeimura brush but still has wonderful reviews! Hope that helped

I am making a Emiya Shirou custom for my husband and he is an obitsu and dollfie dream hybrid. I re-finished his faceup last month (after a failed attempt of sealing the first faceup I and ending up ruining it )
