Nightgown or Summer Dress?

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

Nightgown or Summer Dress?

Postby MitisFeles » Wed Jan 22, 2014 5:13 am

Just finished a nightgown (or a summer dress, I'm not so sure) for Dahlia, made recycling a cotton skirt bought in a thrift store. The skirt had already the lace-like inserts and the trim. Unfortunately, I took these photos at 10.00 PM and my room was quite dark -_-

Really delicate look. ^^ And I'd say summer dress, but it could be nightgown from victorian era, too.

That's a very beautiful dress. I think it could go either way, but I like the nightgown idea better. I just imagine doing a pretty night photoshoot.

I vote dress, since I have one very similar! It is a "Mexican Wedding Dress". It also looks a bit like Gunnie Sax dresses.

Thank you guys! i think I'll use it for both purposes XD
I searched "Gunne Sax" on Google, and the results really looks a lot like this dress! I also think I've found my dream wedding dress XD https://www.starbridalapparel.com/vinta ... dress.html

It also looks like an Edwardian Tea Gown. Which was worn for High Tea in the garden in summer.

I had several gunne sax dresses as a teen. I wish I'd kept them! I agree with VV. It looks quite a bit like the tea gown. She just needs a fancy hat to complete the look.

I love it as a dress too, but maybe because I still have a few old Gunnies packed away someplace and loved wearing them. (Altho I'll never be that tiny again until after I'm dead for a year or two LOL!)
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.
