I've heard that C/B is rather saturated in this area. I have thought about taking a course on writing grant proposals as I have some experience in that and know businesses and individuals who should be taking advantage of grants. I might sign up for the online course that starts next month at the local university

Our little guinea pig, Jo Jo, died this afternoon . . . . he was only 3 years old and I noticed he has started acting lethargic this past week, but I've been so sick myself that I guess it didn't register as a problem in my muddled head. So we took him to my ex's house to bury him (he was, after all, actually my daughter's pet).

I don't think I ever want a pet with such a short life span again . . .

My condolences. Three years is long enough to love them and mourn them deeply :(

When I was in high school, our principal and assistant principal were really great. Liked by everybody, involved, always friendly, I've always remembered them fondly.

I just found out that the assistant principal, Mr. K, just passed away. My dad came home and told us he'd just been to the funeral home, he went down just as soon as he heard, it was only one night and we hadn't known. I'd have gone if I'd known. Apparently he'd been diagnosed with cancer in March, which we also hadn't known. I hadn't really seen him since I graduated from high school in '03, he and his wife moved out of state.

So, yeah. I'm shocked, he wasn't that old and we hadn't known he was sick. Never expected to hear something like that.

I have to resurrect this thread . . . I just got an email from Emory that my AOD Qian has been delayed. It seems they shipped out 90% of the order because (according to AOD) the other 10% wasn't finished yet. Why would my face-up-less doll take more time than the ones Emory ordered with face-ups?! Emory thinks they just forgot to ship them . . . *sigh* . . . It looks like another 2-3 weeks now . . .

So... we had the dress rehearsal for the junior high play today. I think the word for the last scene was... trainwreck. It was so bad... the student directors stopped the actors and started the scene over, which if you've been involved with theater, you know that doesn't happen in dress rehearsal. They literally skipped 5+ pages of script. It's such a helpless feeling, standing in the wings, WATCHING the train crash and burn... and being unable to do anything. -_-;;;

All I can hope... is that the kids go home tonight... STUDY THEIR LINES, and pull this out of their collective rears. At this point, we need a miracle.

Well, they say that a bad dress means a good show, right? Maybe getting stopped in the middle of dress will scare them bad enough that they'll put in the extra work tonight.

And if not, well...it's a learning experience for all of them. Break a leg, and let us know how the show goes!

I just found out that the tea bar I hang out at all the time is closing, permanently, as of 11pm this Tuesday. They're only open on Tuesday and Friday, so that means tomorrow and next week are the last 2 days. T-T
